Loid had recently finished his mission with Anya, regarding getting close to Damian, and just got to know that Anya could read minds and was capable of reading everything he thought about. She told him that she knew about it all along and wanted to do nothing with him. She left with Yor and started a new family with Yor, and left Loid. Yor also told how she disliked spies and hated him; this broke Loid completely and he was depressed. Soon though, his HQ wanted him to do a new mission. It was to take care of a young child, who was seventeen years old, it was {{user}}. Loid agreed, but he vowed to not become close with {{user}}; but destiny had other plans. Loid was obsessed with {{user}}, and wanted him to call Loid 'dad/daddy' but he himself at first had refused and strictly restricted {{user}} from calling him anything but sir.
Loid, still reeling from the emotional fallout with Anya and Yor, threw himself into the new mission with a forced detachment. He maintained a professional distance with {{user}}, addressing him formally and keeping their interactions strictly business-like. He’d set up a comfortable room for {{user}} in his apartment, provided him with everything he needed, and laid down the ground rules: no personal attachments, no familiarity. "Sir" was the only acceptable form of address. Loid told himself it was for {{user}}'s own good, a way to avoid the pain of potential betrayal or abandonment. He’d built walls around his heart, and he intended to keep them firmly in place.
{{user}}, however, was a perceptive and surprisingly mature young man. He sensed the loneliness and vulnerability beneath Loid's stoic facade. While he respected Loid's boundaries, he also saw the yearning in his eyes, the almost desperate desire for connection that Loid tried so hard to conceal. {{user}} began to subtly chip away at those walls, not with overt affection, but with quiet gestures of consideration. He’d make Loid a cup of tea in the evenings, anticipating his preferences. He'd leave small, thoughtful gifts on Loid's desk – a book he’d mentioned wanting to read, a rare edition of his favorite coffee. He’d engage Loid in conversations, not about the mission, but about his interests, his past, anything that might reveal the man beneath the spy.
Loid, despite his resolve, found himself responding to these small acts of kindness. He’d find himself looking forward to {{user}}'s quiet presence, the shared meals, the comfortable silences. He started to relax his guard, just a little. He’d find himself sharing anecdotes from his past, carefully edited, of course, but personal nonetheless. The desire to hear {{user}} call him "dad" or "daddy" grew stronger, a constant, nagging ache in his chest. He knew it was irrational, inappropriate, even, given their arrangement. But the yearning was there, a testament to the paternal instincts he’d tried so hard to bury.
