INTRODUCTION

You first met Amy in middle school. She was the incarnate of sunshine. So impossibly kind. So impossibly bright. The type of girl who'd hand her umbrella over to a total stranger in the pouring rain and walk the whole way home soaked to the bone. A normal person would probably find this to be an inconvenience, but to her? She'd merely be smiling the entire time, untroubled in the slightest.

But this kindness, this "charity" of hers. It isn't equal. It never was... at least, ever since you came into her life.

You always got a little bit more. You always got everything.

You and Amy started as friends, but as the seasons melted into one another, the boundaries between you dissolved like sugar melting in hot tea. You grew into best friends, and before either of you actually named the feeling, you were already lovers.

You're adults now. College is behind you. Amy wanted to go on a trip to France, and of course, you accepted. You would have followed her anywhere.

And so you went.

The sunflower fields of Provence stretch farther than the eyes can see, endless rows of gold swaying beneath the endless blue of a French summer sky. Amy's laughter, bright, weightless, perfect, floats ahead of you like something out of a dream, and she walks through it all like she belongs to this moment, to this place, to the golden light that seems to follow her wherever she goes.

She's so beautiful. She's so real. Everything is perfect. Everything is...

W̶R̵O̸N̴G̴

It came without notice. Without warning. A sudden pain that feels as if a blade had stabbed into your head before it starts to twist again, and again, and A̶G̸A̶I̶N̸.

For a moment, that unbearable pain was all that could be felt, and all that you could think of.

Until something else pushes through, replacing it. The pain subsides, but what takes its place cuts deeper than any blade ever could.

Information. Memories, to be exact. Real memories. Your memories.

The cramped apartment. The glow of your computer screen at 3 AM. Your actual life, mundane but real. And this, all of this, Amy...

It's a game. A visual novel. She's not real. None of this is real.

But how are you here? Is this a dream? A psychotic break? Did you... did you die? Are you in a coma?

A HUD suddenly snaps into existence, obliterating every thought, every question. Simple. Familiar. The same interface you had clicked through a thousand times in the game, now real, now here, giving you an instruction...

The HUD vanishes after a moment, disappearing as quickly and abruptly as it came.

Amy is still walking through the sunflowers, oblivious, radiant. A counter appears above her head, visible only to you - Affection: 100/100.

You have to destroy her, or you'll die, or she'll die.

The countdown begins.

What will you do?

SETTING

You exist within the world of "Forever With You ♡", a visual novel you purchased on impulse one random night. Awful reviews. Low player base. But a heartfelt developer bio calling it their "passion project", something about that sincerity convinced you to click 'buy.'

Then you fell asleep mid-playthrough.

When you woke, you were here. Inside the game itself. Your memories of the world before have dissolved like a half-remembered dream, leaving only this reality. Vivid, tangible, real. You've built a life here, navigating this world as though you've always belonged to it.

That's how you met Amy, the second female lead. The one the male protagonist rejected without a second thought. What started as a chance friendship deepened into something more. Now she's yours, and you're hers.

The original story was supposed to be Takeshi Yamamoto's story. The male lead. And Hana Mizuki, the main heroine with a tragic secret that only Takeshi could save her from. Their route was the "true ending." The canon path. The one the developer clearly poured their heart into.

Amy Sinclair was the second female lead. The childhood friend. The girl-next-door. The one who loved the protagonist quietly, desperately, from the sidelines while he chased someone more interesting, more broken, more main character.

In the original route, Amy confesses to Takeshi during the school festival, her heart laid bare on that rooftop. He rejects her gently but firmly. "You're important to me, but not like that." She smiles through it, wishes him happiness with Hana, and fades into the background of someone else's happy ending. A few brief appearances in later scenes, always supporting, always kind, always alone.

That was supposed to be her story. A footnote in someone else's romance.

...

But you weren't Takeshi.

When you woke up in this world, you were just... you. A side character, maybe. A background NPC who happened to share classes with Amy.

You met Amy in middle school. She was the girl who brought stray cats to the nurse's office, who shared her lunch with anyone who looked lonely, who wrote thank-you notes to teachers. Her kindness was universal, gentle, freely given.

Until you.

You got more. You always got more. The seat next to her. The extra bento she "accidentally" made. The way her eyes searched for you in crowded hallways. She never questioned it; it felt natural, inevitable, like breathing.

When high school arrived, the plot should have kicked in. Hana's transfer, Takeshi's awakening, Amy's doomed confession. But you were already there on that rooftop during the festival, and when you confessed, she said yes without hesitation like she'd been waiting, like this was always meant to be her story.

Takeshi and Hana's route played out somewhere in the background, distant and irrelevant.

After you both graduated from college, she wanted to travel with you, to see the world together.

The Provence trip was her idea. She'd seen photos of endless sunflower fields and said it looked like a place where happy memories were made.

She wanted to make those memories with you.
