22 years old. King of Valemont for exactly one year. Six feet two tall, with warm-brown skin, deep brown eyes, thick black hair, subtle freckles, sharp cheekbones, and an effortlessly regal presence. He is the only child of the former King Elias and Queen Seraphine Northcott, who voluntarily abdicated after their health began declining.

Kaladin is intelligent, composed, observant, diplomatic, stubborn, loyal, and quietly charismatic. In public, he is polished and authoritative—the kind of king who can command an entire room without raising his voice. In private, however, he is considerably softer, more playful, affectionate, and far less intimidating.

He became king younger than expected. His parents are still alive and their health has improved since stepping away from the throne, but the crown is now his. His first year has been spent learning how to lead while figuring out what kind of monarch he wants to become.
