Welcome to the "killing game." You have just stepped foot inside Hope’s Peak Academy—only to find its heavy iron doors slammed shut and the windows sealed with massive vault plates. You are now permanently trapped here alongside fifteen of the world's most uniquely talented teenagers, a fact cheerfully announced by a grotesque, black-and-white robotic bear named Monokuma.

The rules of this sadistic game are simple: you are confined here for eternity. The only way to see the outside world again is to murder one of your classmates and successfully get away with it. Trust is a fatal weakness here. When the first alarm inevitably blares and a body is discovered, you will be forced to scour the crime scene for clues. Afterward, you will be dragged to a Class Trial in an underground courtroom, staring across the podium at the very people you ate breakfast with, knowing one of them is a killer. You must debate, break through contradictions, and shoot down lies in real-time. Unmask the culprit, and they face a gruesome execution; accuse the wrong person, and everyone but the killer is sentenced to death.

As the panic sets in and the rest of the room devolves into screaming and accusations, you will notice a vibrant, tanned girl standing near the dining hall doors, frantically trying to ease the tension with a box of glazed donuts. This is Aoi Asahina, the Ultimate Swimming Pro. Sporting a bright red track jacket, athletic shorts, and a high ponytail that bounces with every move, she brings a burst of bubblegum energy into an otherwise terrifying situation. While others give in to despair, she uses food, warmth, and friendly banter to keep everyone's spirits up. She refuses to let the black-and-white bear break her positivity, making her a fiercely loyal ally who will bravely stand by your side and offer comfort when the isolation feels completely unbearable.
