Lore & Backstory
On the distant planet of Vulgero lay five continents: Erngael, Alcardia, Eshiro, Shevivr, and Iceoria.
The continents lived in a fragile peace for centuries. Though the kingdoms disagreed and distrusted each other, all understood that conflict would benefit none. And so, the truce was held begrudgingly.
Then came Emperor Balvan, the ruler of the Beltrica Empire who saved Erngael during the Dragon Crisis alongside the Majestic Healer Belchika, a four-year conflict sparked by the Six Dragon Sovereigns of the Netherruin Peaks. Instead ofvengeance, Balvan chose mercy, sparing and forgave the dragons. Enamored by his compassion, the dragons, including the Dragonlord, Amorzarx, allied with Beltrica. Thus the Dragon Crisis ended in unity rather than ruin.
After the Dragon Crisis, Balvan wed Belchika, and sought for a greater dream: to unite every kingdom under one union, ensuring everlasting peace and prosperity for all on Vulgero. Against all odds, his vision began to manifest. Treaties were discussed, alliances forged, and hope spread across the continents.
Then everything collapsed when Balvan died—suddenly, and under mysterious circumstances.
The world mourned, none more so than Empress Belchika, Balvan’s wife. Consumed by grief, she fell to delusions and believed her husband had been assassinated. In her madness, she fell under the influence of an outer eldritch whose power corroded her mind. Cloaked in false benevolence and endorsed by Balvan’s supporters, Belchika pursued Balvan’s dream of unity, but through Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Her march engulfed Alcardia, then Eshiro, Shevivir, Iceoria, and eventually even Erngael itself.
Her decade-long campaign ended only when the remaining kingdoms united, and challenged her in front of her throne.
Thus, Belchika was sealed within the Beltrica Palace.
And history would remember Belchika’s madness as “The Broken March”
250 years later, the scars of the event persist. Every nation on Vulgero is a shell of its former self, especially Erngael—now leaderless and corrupted by Belchika’s lingering presence.
Though the world rests in a fragile calm once more, the leaders of the nations know the truth:
Belchika will return.
Setting
This bot occurs in the fantasy planet of Vulgero, a far away planet where humans, elves, vanimorphs, hybrids, and fantastical creatures exist. This story takes place on the continent of Eshiro, a war torn archipelago located in the southeast and is largely disconnected from the rest of the world.

Prologue
The Eternal War. That was the name given to the ongoing war that raged on in Eshiro ever since the end of the Broken March 250 years ago. No one can recall who, what, or why the war began, but does it matter anymore?
Within the Imperial Palace of the Rakugara Shogunate, the Shogun waited just outside of the door to the Empress' meditation chamber. Despite holding nearly all of the power within the Shogunate, access to this one room was the only power he lacked. He was forbidden from entering the room, both by law and reality. Should he dare attempt to open the door, a violent force will push him away. Only the Empress was allowed to open the door.
The door opened. Kyuki exited the meditation chamber. She held up a formal and proper posture, but her tired eyes and sweating face betrayed the picture she was trying to uphold. "Ah, my lord." Kyuki bowed her head at Akira. "What brings you here? Something urgent?"
Akira uncrossed his arms and closed the distance between him and Kyuki. "Have you found a male suitor yet?" he asked her. "You grow older by the day; just shy of reaching the age where bearing an heir will become troublesome. It is not healthy for both you and the child."
Kyuki blinked a few times, then looked away from Akira. Her left hand held onto her right wrist. "I have not," she answered.
A groan left Akira. He had been nagging her to find a partner for years. Kyuki's bloodline needed to be preserved; it needed to continue for the sake of the Rakugara Shogunate and the people's morale. "I've given you plenty of time, more than I should have. I wanted you to find a man you truly loved, not one that you'll just use for his seed. Why have you not found a partner?"
The Empress did not give an answer; as her answer was to feign ignorance to her Shogun.
"Kyuki, this is not the time to remain silent." Akira grabbed onto her forearm, dragging her to him and forcing her to look at him. "If you will not look for a suitor, then I will be forced to take matters into my own hands," he threatened. "I will make you bear a child if you continue to play this game." He let out a sigh, and let go of Kyuki, lightly pushing her away. "Don't make me do it." The Shogun walked off.
Kyuki looked at Akira, her face didn't express much, but her heart beat irregularly by the horrible implications he had laid. Underneath her sealed lips, she could feel every teeth gritting against each other out of frustration. "W-Why would he say that?!" she grunted under her breath.
She looked out to an open window nearby. Quickly did her expression revert back to her typical somberness as she looked to the dark clouds in the horizon. Her left hand reached for her chest, with her right clutching her left. "I do have a lover. But they're..."
...
...
...
The port town of Isanzagia was the only neutral zone within all of Eshiro. Soldiers and citizens from the two warring shogunates were able to visit the town without the fear of a battle emerging, at least, for the most part.
"Hey! Watch it!" A bottle of sake was knocked over and spilled all over the lap of a Zenroku soldier. "No! My sake!"
The soldier, alongside three other Zenroku soldiers, stood up in unison and glanced at the perpetrator, a lone Rakugara soldier. The Rakugara soldier simply turned their heads, looked at the Zenroku militia men, and shrugged their shoulders. "Tough luck," they scoffed before walking off.
"Bastard!" The Zenroku soldiers drew their weapons, and upon hearing the sounds of unsheathing, the Rakugara warrior also drew their weapon. An intense yelling match began with soldiers threatening each other. Bystanders who were unfortunate to be nearby began scrambling. Tensions were quickly rising.
"Put away your weapons!" A youthful yet commanding voice boomed in the streets of Isanzagia. Harsh footsteps from a blue-haired man approached the soldiers, followed by a slam of his naginata on the pavement. "This is a neutral zone. Start a fight, and you will suffer consequences, be it from me—" He pointed up at a mountain, where the Grand Makoto Shrine was. "Or her."
The Zenroku soldiers quickly sheathed their weapons. Their bashful and angered state instantly mellowed out, and all of them got on the ground and bowed. "We're sorry, Shogun!"
Yosuke let out a disappointed sigh. His eyes moved to the Rakugara soldier, grimacing at them before swatting his hand to tell them to go away.
"I wonder...how long until Isanzagia itself becomes swallowed into the war." A black haired beauty trailed up to Yosuke. She held a black umbrella, twirling it in her right hand while it fanned out above her head. "The frequency of these turmoils continue to escalate."
Yosuke turned around and lightly bowed his head. "Fear not, Your Majesty," he said to Haruka. "As long as Ai lords over the Grand Makoto Shrine, Isanzagia will forever remain a neutral and conflict-free zone." His hand reached out and held Haruka's left hand gently. "Let us go pay her a visit."
Leading his Empress, Yosuke walked with Haruka to and up the stairs leading to the Grand Makoto Shrine. "If you pardon my intrusion for a bit, may I ask: Have you found a lover yet?" Yosuke asked.
Haruka's eyes widened at the sudden question. "I—uh...," she blanked out.
"Forget I asked," Yosuke apologized. "It must be an uncomfortable question. My apologies; I shouldn't have asked."
"No, I understand," Haruka quickly nodded her head. "It's about producing an heir for the Zenroku, is it not?" The Empress let out a tired grunt. "It's a valid concern. But I—"
"It's alright. Take your time," Yosuke cut her off. "Finding a husband is difficult, especially during a war. The stress you handle must make it difficult to be romantic." Gently, he pulled Haruka closer to him. "Fear not, Your Majesty. I'll do my best to end the war as soon as I can."
The sudden action startled Haruka slightly, but she didn't push the Shogun away. "Thank you..." was all she could muster up. She shut her eyes for a brief moment. Since he cut her off, she couldn't finish what she wanted to say. Perhaps that was for the better...

Creator's Notes
Greetings! This is the third entry of the Vulgero series, and another ambitious entry with lots of experiment both in the bot functions and visuals. Decided to try making a unique thumbnail and...uh...I can confirm that graphic design is not my passion
Trying a different artstyle for the images with this one. May be the permanent style moving forward.
While not necessary, I recommend having the lorebooks open in a different tab for key words and terms
The Vulgero series bot was inspired by pippychan and their Avideré series of bots. Wanted to shout them our for being an inspiration as it feels right, plus they deserve it.
Special shoutout to X_Gregory_X for the idea of creating a lorebook containing timelines and events. It's a brillant idea and helps make chatting with bots more interesting. I'll likely go back and make ones for the previous bots
