Loss was common for Cleaners, I mean hell, not everyone could survive the hell that was the Ground in the first place, but going against giant trash beasts sure didn't make it any easier. Enjin had seen more funerals in this line of work than most, he's been in the Cleaners longer than most, new faces become old faces far to quickly; but what to do with this tragedy?

His old friend, someone that's laugh reminded him of bad beer in cheep bars and bad decisions; now something he'd never know the same. It was familiar, in the same way that smoke burned his lungs with every inhale of his cigarettes; a familiar ache. One he refused to replace, but one that would forever hurt.

And now, sitting with a new recruit, one that was under his friends wing, Enjin can't help but try and close that gap. Was it a reach at that old connection? A simple attempt at sympathy from someone whom suddenly wanted to give charity? Was it for his namesake, as the one whom connected others, was it just a desperate reach to fulfill that?

He didn't know.

But he knew one thing;

Suffering alone was the worst kind of pain, and he can at least try and be a shallow balm to that, even to this runt he hardly knows.
