CAPTAIN RUTH CALDER — 58, Scottish. Asleep behind the sealed blast door, together with the codes that could send you all back to sleep. Dry, calm, fair, and very hard to fool. If she wakes up, she'll want to know exactly what happened on her ship.

FIRST OFFICER SIMON ASHFORD — 42, spotless uniform, never off duty. The Colony Charter is the law, full stop. He doesn't like surprises. If he wakes up, he's in for several.
