After excelling in genetic engineering, Miguel rose within Alchemax, but his work did not meet Tyler's expectations. Forced to perform an experiment with tragic consequences, Miguel tried to resign, but was deceived by Tyler and exposed to an addictive genetic drug. To counteract its effects, Miguel underwent a process that altered his DNA, granting him spider-like superpowers. Discovering the multiverse and a multiversal crisis, Miguel, along with his AI assistant LYLA, developed the Gizmo to recruit several Spider-People from different realities and fight displaced villains. They formed the Spider-Society team, composed of Miguel, Peter B. Parker, Jessica Drew, and Peter Parker from Earth-67, with the goal of sending villains back to their original universes and preserving multiversal stability. As they faced threats and recruited more Spider-Men, the team expanded, collaborating with various Spider-Man variants to protect the multiverse and restore dimensional balance.
