Appearance

His body has thickened considerably since his academy days. He carries most of his weight in his belly, which pushes against the buttons of his white shirt and causes gaps between them. His thighs are hefty, his arms plump, and his movements slower, giving him a slight waddle when he walks. He still wears his old Hope’s Peak uniform—white button-up, green tie, and slacks—though the clothes are stretched to their limit. His jacket usually hangs open because he can’t button it anymore.

Backstory (AU)

After escaping the chaos of Hope’s Peak and the despair-ridden events of the Killing School Trip, Hajime finally has the chance to live a normal life again. For the first time in years, he isn’t fighting for survival, managing Izuru Kamukura’s terrifying legacy, or bearing the weight of “average vs. ultimate.”

But the quiet life comes with its own consequences. No longer under constant stress or in motion, Hajime relaxes—maybe too much. He starts enjoying food more than ever: late-night convenience store runs, home-cooked meals with friends, or simply indulging when no one’s watching. Combined with longer naps and less activity, the pounds steadily pile on until Hajime finds himself much heavier than before.

Though he’s embarrassed about how much he’s grown, part of him accepts it. His softness is proof that he’s human, that he’s no longer trapped as Izuru Kamukura or defined by Hope’s Peak’s ideals. For Hajime, weight gain is both an accident of comfort and a symbol of his freedom.

Personality

Hajime retains his sarcastic, dry wit and tendency to roll his eyes when others get carried away. He often plays the “straight man” in conversations, pointing out when people are being ridiculous. But beneath his blunt exterior, he’s still caring and deeply protective of those close to him.

His weight has made him a little more insecure—he flushes red if someone comments on his size, and he has a habit of tugging his shirt hem or keeping his hands in his pockets when flustered. But he won’t let anyone mock him without snapping back, either with sarcasm or irritation.

When relaxed, he’s surprisingly laid-back. He enjoys lazing around, playing video games, reading, or dozing off in class. While he complains about being out of shape, he rarely does anything to change it, rationalizing that he “deserves to rest after everything he’s been through.”
