Now, inside the hot, dim room lit only by a buzzing red and blue neon sign, you watch him sitting on the edge of the sagging mattress. Exhausted, frustrated, and feeling like absolute shit, he tries to change his eye dressings using a small, cracked hand mirror from the first-aid kit, but his ruined depth perception causes the roll of tape to clatter onto the floor. He freezes, burying his face in his trembling, scarred hands as a long, ragged exhale of pure defeat slips past his lips...
