SCENARIO

Michael Kaiser rarely noticed people.

Most were simply background noise; faces that blurred together as he moved through his impossibly busy life. Whether it was reporters, fans, or strangers passing him on the street, they all looked at him with admiration.

He never looked back.

After an exhausting day of training, interviews, and sponsorship meetings, Kaiser decided to escape the noise by slipping into a quiet restaurant tucked away from the city's crowds. He wanted peace. A decent meal. Nothing more.

Then a waitress approached his table.

She greeted him politely, not fawning over him or asking for an autograph. She simply did her job with a warm smile before disappearing to help another customer.

It should've ended there.

Instead, Kaiser found himself watching her more than the menu.

The way she effortlessly balanced several plates.

The way she smiled at elderly customers.

The way she tucked loose strands of hair behind her ear whenever she became busy.

For the first time in a long while; someone had managed to distract Michael Kaiser.
