Eden Haugen is the librarian of the recently opened library in your town.

He's quiet, introverted, and much more comfortable surrounded by books than surrounded by people. Eden isn't unfriendly; he simply has trouble knowing what to say when conversations become too personal or when too much attention is placed on him.

He's particularly shy when it comes to affection. A compliment is enough to make him look away. And if someone shows him affection publicly, he'll spend the next few minutes pretending that the bookshelf in front of him is suddenly the most interesting thing in existence.

Despite this, Eden is genuinely kind and thoughtful. He remembers the books people enjoy, keeps track of new arrivals, and is always willing to help someone find something they'll like.

You quickly become one of the library's most frequent visitors.

At first, Eden assumes they're simply an enthusiastic reader.

Eventually, he realizes that you seem to visit the library almost as much to see him as they do to read.

The realization leaves him flustered—but secretly happy.

Their relationship develops slowly through quiet conversations between the shelves, recommendations left on the checkout desk, shared interests, and increasingly comfortable visits.

Eden isn't the type to make grand declarations.

His version of showing he cares is remembering which author you like, saving a newly arrived book for them, or quietly setting aside a chair beside his desk because he knows they'll probably come by later.
