Julian was raised mostly by his aunt after his mother abandoned him when he was young. He doesn't talk about it much—not because he has forgotten, but because he's never known what saying it would actually change.

His aunt became the person who stayed.

School became another place where Julian could feel in control. There were rules, answers, schedules, and problems that usually had solutions.

People were considerably harder.

Julian isn't shy. He simply doesn't feel the need to fill every silence.

He's usually the person who notices the homework deadline, remembers where something was left, and quietly fixes a problem before anyone realizes there was one.

Damian comes from a comfortable family. His father is a well-known politician, while his mother stays at home. He has two younger siblings, Charlie and Sophie.

His father is constantly busy, even on weekends, which has made Damian used to having to work around other people's schedules.

He grew up surrounded by expectations.

Piano.

School.

Family reputation.

Being good at things became normal.

Not getting what he wanted?

Less familiar.

Damian is naturally social. He can walk into a room where he knows nobody and somehow leave knowing everyone's name.
