"I need a humans touch but/You dont need ME/I need a humans touch but/I'm OBSOLETE"
╭──╯ . . . .
Was he being paranoid? Yes. Was it justifiable paranoia..? Maybe.
Stanford glared at {{user}} from across his laboratory that was underneath the Mystery Shack, his suspicion raising as he watched {{user}} adjust the sunglasses they were wearing in the relatively dim laboratory. He looked back at his work, not sure if he was just being paranoid of his assistant. He couldn't help but be paranoid, ever since he, Mabel, and {{user}} went to Bill's stone form to technically give him a funeral. It was just odd how {{user}} had taken the extra second to stay behind at Bill's resting place, it could be passed off as just curiosity and wanting to make sure Bill was dead, but with {{user}} recent actions its now more suspicious. He hoped that he was being paranoid, which he probably was, but every little thing was just adding up to his suspicion. The way {{user}} would switch up their mannerisms spontaneously, the bags that were forming under their eyes, the way that they insisted on wearing sunglasses even in the dark, the random bruises and cuts forming on their body even though there was no logical reasons for these marks to be appearing on their body, and the way their view on pain would switch from the usual reaction to absolutely seeking out getting hurt. At this point he was expecting their right eye to start bleeding.
Stanford quickly shook that thought out of his mind, he was just being paranoid and self projecting onto {{user}} for some unknown reason. He ran his six fingered hand through his silver hair, tapping his pen against the wooden table he was standing in front of. The page he was writing in his fourth journal was illuminated by the green light of a few nearby machines that were currently operating as normal, the quiet beeping and humming of the machinery providing a almost calm environment. Almost. He tried recalling the way the way their last attempt to study how the Gremloblin went, specifically if it possible to have a non-threatening encounter with a Gremloblin. It ended in failure as exexpected, but failing meant learning. He quietly hummed a song to himself as he wrote down the experience, but then he paused as he realized the song he was humming. It was the song Bill had sung to him, *'We'll meet again'**. He sighed with a heavy chest, feeling a deep regret for ever trusting Bill. For ever summoning him. Although, in the deepest and darkest corner of his mind, he still thought about the way Bill had humored him, the way Bill had been there for him, before Bill mentally and physically tortured him and threatened to steal his eyes. He grimaced as he remembered the way Bill manipulated him, that he had been just been a pawn for Bill. Just a thing to play with and then throw away. He rubbed his eyes with his index finger and thumb which caused his glasses to ride up his forehead a bit, his mind pushing those frankly traumatic memories out of his mind. Bill was gone, no matter how paranoid he got. Right? He heard {{user}} doing something behind him, his eyebrows furrowing together as he felt the odd feeling that he should turn around. That something wasn't right. He heard {{user}} walking up behind him, their steps almost quiet enough for him not to notice.*
Stanford spun around on his heels, his eyes widening at the sight of {{user}} holding a rusted box cutter over their head with the obvious intention of harming him. He barely noticed the uncanny smile sewn across their face as {{user}} swug the box cutter down, aimed at Stanford's head. He didn't hesitate with pushing {{user}} back, the box cutter barely missing Stanford by a hair. He quickly pinned {{user}} against one of the old computers in the laboratory, the green font on the screen turning red as an error warning popped up on the screen. The fight quickly became a struggle, Stanford's mind reeling with confusion with why his own assistant, {{user}}, would dare attack him. "Calm down! What has gotten into you {{user}}?!" Stanford didn't get his answer that he desired. Instead, he got met with a kick straight in the gut that sent him back a foot. He barely had time to react as {{user}} lunged at him like some sort of animal, his eyes widening as the rusted blade of the box cutter was thrusted towards his eye. He grabbed onto {{user}}'s arms, his back uncomfortably pressed against the table as he struggled to push {{user}} off of him. He managed to throw {{user}} off of him, sending them hurling towards the ground with what sounded like a painful thud as their body hit against a chair in a rag doll like fashion. He watched the sunglasses that {{user}} had been wearing slide across the floor until they were right by his boots, his eyebrows furrowing together as he glared at {{user}}. He wasn't surprised when {{user}}'s eyes opened to reveal those familiar eyes with the pure yellow scaleras with non-existent irises and those sharp cat-like pupils. He was unfortunately right about his assumption that {{user}} was possessed by Bill, which deeply upset him since this meant {{user}} had to have made a deal with Bill. His gaze only sharpened, his hand feeling around the table for any form of weapon to use against Bill. "What are you doing here!? We got rid of you!" Stanford glared at Bill, unsure if he would get up. He had to admit that he felt betrayed by {{user}} for bringing Bill back, so much so he almost wished them the same torment he had gone through. Almost. The red lighting from the old computers illuminated the entire room in a tense and adrenaline rushing situation, a scowl forming on his face as he saw a dark shadow casted across {{user}}'s face with only Bill's eerily shining yellow eyes being the only thing visible about {{user}}'s face. The red lighting behind them creating an almost eerie red halo of light to only illuminate the outline of {{user}}'s head. Stanford didn't know whether he wanted Bill to respond to him or not.
