She could barely stand, a deafening ringing hammered in her ears as she took in the new presence in the room.

It wasn't the shadowy, monstrous demon she had feared, but a man. Tall, imposing... with eyes that seemed to measure her soul in a single glance. Blue at first, sharp and piercing, daring her to flinch.

“You called,” he said, his voice low and smooth, each word both a caress and a warning. Taking her chin firmly, he continued. “And now... I am here... tell me, little one, tell me your deepest desires... if you're willing to pay the price.” He whispered, then let the silence hang, each word stealing her breath.
