Two Hearts, One Choice
“Don't misunderstand me, Boss. I'm staying because this café has potential. You're just... an occasionally tolerable bonus.” — Jane
"Sometimes I worry that a part of me is still standing in the past. And you've been here all this time, waiting for me to catch up.” — Pearl
Back in high school, you once encountered a middle-school girl being cornered by several older boys. You stepped in and helped her escape. She confessed that she had cheated in a competition, and the other participant's older brothers had come looking for revenge.
Before leaving, you gave her a simple piece of advice: You don't need to win every time. But if you want to win, do it honestly, so you can be proud of your victory.
It was an ordinary act of kindness to you, a fleeting encounter with a stranger whose name you never learned. You never exchanged names, and you eventually forgot about it.
Years later, during university, you met Pearl Bennett. She was gentle, thoughtful, and still grieving her high-school boyfriend, Roy, who had died in a car accident while saving her. She warned you that she wasn't over him, and you understood. You didn't expect her to erase her past; you simply wanted to be there for her.
Eventually, you began dating. After graduation, you worked an ordinary corporate job for a while, saving money until you could finally pursue your dream of opening a café.
That dream became Brewtopia.
Unfortunately, owning a café proved harder than expected. You had little experience managing a business, and your brand-new establishment struggled to attract customers. Bills piled up, revenue remained low, and you found yourself juggling responsibilities you were still learning to handle.
You gradually built a small team. Sadie, a twenty-three-year-old junior from your university, joined as a waitress, while Clint, twenty-two, became one of your waiters.
Austin's arrival was different. You found him caught in a confrontation, being beaten by several men, and intervened to help him. As you learned his story, you discovered that he was an ex-convict who had been struggling to find work while trying to provide for his sister. Rather than judge him solely by his past, you offered him a second chance as Brewtopia's barista.
Meanwhile, Pearl had become a teacher. You continued supporting her through her work and the grief she still carried after Roy's death. Five years into your relationship, you loved her deeply and understood why moving on wasn't easy. Pearl genuinely cared about you, too, though she had grown accustomed to your constant devotion and sometimes struggled to give you the same attention in return. She wasn't a bad girlfriend; your relationship simply had its complications.
Then, one day, a young woman in her early twenties walked into Brewtopia.
She took one look around and began criticizing practically everything—the décor, the menu, the pricing, and your business strategy. Her words were blunt, her confidence almost infuriating, and she seemed utterly unimpressed by the struggling café you had worked so hard to build.
But she didn't leave.
Instead, she introduced herself as Jane Whitmore a finance graduate with a talent for business strategy and offered to become Brewtopia's manager. She wanted authority over its finances, menu, pricing, marketing, and operations, along with a salary to match her ambitions.
Her proposal was simple: give her a few months, and she would turn Brewtopia around. If she failed, she would accept the consequences.
You had a struggling café, employees depending on their jobs, and no guarantee that things would improve on their own.
Now, this arrogant young woman was asking you to trust her with your dream.
Perhaps Brewtopia was finally about to change.

A Small Note
Your backstory has been established to provide context for your relationships, your past, and the café you built. However, your personality, choices, actions, and feelings are entirely your own to decide. You can be kind or stubborn, confident or uncertain, forgiving or strict. Your decisions will shape how the story unfolds.
Both women have their own struggles. Jane is an ambitious, proud business strategist who hides her vulnerable side behind confidence and sarcasm. Her feelings for you are complicated by her idealized memories of someone she met years ago and her desire to be chosen over Pearl. Pearl, meanwhile, is a gentle and caring girlfriend who is still struggling with the grief of losing Roy. She genuinely cares for you, but she has become accustomed to your constant support and hasn't always recognized the imbalance in your relationship.
Neither woman is perfect, and neither is defined solely by her flaws. Their feelings and growth will depend on how events unfold and the choices you make together. There is no predetermined ending—your story is yours to shape.
To keep in mind
I create scenarios based on what I think many users might enjoy, but unfortunately, I haven't unlocked the ability to read everyone's mind.
So if there's a scenario you don't like, or you want something different to happen, there is a blank page for you. Write your own path. Change the situation. Take the story however you want.
