Important Update & Slight rant/vent
Hey, y'all. Wanted to give a bit of an update! Starting with the most important one:
I changed my username on here!
I've now changed it from Shizukai to LunaLorekeeper!
I did this so it matches my preferred handle for this space here on Janitor. And because I've commissioned people before and wanted to make sure that folks in spaces I'm in can find me more easily. As before, you all can call me Kai or Luna! I love both names and am pretty chill with both of them. But, my preference leans more towards Luna for convenience sake!
There will be a lot of bots I'll need to update the information on with this since I am one of those people who posted little copyright thingy's at the bottom of my bot definitions, so if you receive notifications that some bots have been updated I'm sorry, and that's why!
Speaking of bot definitions...
The second, other important thing:
My honest reaction when learning this.
This kind of thing really frustrates me for a few reasons since I'm actually wanting feedback of my bots so I can improve my writing as a creator, and I really don't want to go to some shady third party website to read comments. Especially when that website has ads too. Ew. Secondly, I really don't want to have the bots I made uploaded onto a third party website unless I'm the one doing so. It's both a preference for me, and I really don't like the characters I make for Janitor being uploaded somewhere else where I have no control over them. If it's for private use for yourselves? I don't mind. Just, don't tell me about it and don't publish it publicly.
The images I use for my bots? Those are AI I find off of Pinterest and other websites and google images, or I swipe it off Tensor or other public AI image generation sites cause I'm broke and I see creating bots as a hobby. In my opinion? If an AI image doesn't have a watermark? That's fair game public domain, baby!
AI generated content, (Including images) are not copyrightable. So, it really is free to use whatever you find online in relation to AI, especially for a silly, fun hobby like Janitor. I've said before, I kinda don't care if people want to swipe the images I use since, All AI images are literally all built off of data that was scraped without permission for hundreds of thousands of artists so... as far as I see it? There is no real "claim" to AI generated material. And so, all AI images out there, are fair game in my opinion. As long as you're not trying to plug the art I actively drew into an AI image generator? I do not care if y'all take the images I just randomly found somewhere to use as a face claim for a bot. You do you. I certainly wouldn't want to limit your creativity!
But the written part of the bots are things I work the hardest on. I often spend hours working on my bots, across many days or weeks cooking up ideas to make into interesting scenarios and characters. So it's really disheartening and demotivating to see my hard work reuploaded somewhere else I didn't agree to.
Yes, sometimes I use the assistance of AI like ChatGPT to write the intros or some of the bot card if I want to really get a bot out quick, I'll own that, But, in fairness? I have a day job that limits the time I have for Janitor.
It doesn't take away from the fact that I still spend multiple hours researching, brainstorming, writing, (and rewriting depending on how in depth of a bot I'm making is), and creating lorebooks for specific characters all from scratch anyways. I just need the help to ensure the token count doesn't get too high that the bot becomes unusable for non-proxy users.
This is a hobby for me, not a job. It's why my upload schedule is non-existent. ( ̄『 ̄)
So, In light of learning of this scraper site - and because I don't want to restrict people from using proxies with my bots, especially when I literally make my bots with proxies in mind because I actively use them - I will be releasing my bots with their definitions hidden for the first week they're out as a precaution. I really don't know if it'll help in the long run, or if it'll do anything to really stem the theft of my bots and having them uploaded without my consent on other websites, but... It's really all I can sort of think to do without hindering you all's user experience.
Making bots is a hobby for me. And, even in my list of hobbies? Janitor doesn't even rank the top three out of my hobbies. I am not a hard-core AI bot making enthusiast. I don't have an inkling on half the tech or lingo used in this hobby space, and if I'm being honest? I don't want to learn. It makes my brain hurt to even try to learn HTML to try to make my bot cards look nice, I really can't be assed trying to learn how more complex websites like ST or others... (Can't say them here because of mods, but ifykyk.) I don't have 10+ hours a day to dedicate to another platform just to set it up and learn how it works.
I know Janitor's systems good enough for the purposes I use it for. I'm comfortable with it's systems. With how Lorebooks work. With how easy it is to just plug in a bot's definition after spending time typing it up in a google doc and sending it off into the world. If you use that other website to interact with my bots, I can not stop you. But I will ask that you do not tell me about it. I would much prefer users interact with my content I make and post here on Janitor as this is also the most common place for me to also see your feedback to my creative works.
My final stance on the issue is this:
I don't like my hard work taken and re-uploaded off Janitor, or other sites. I ask that you do not take my work and re-upload it to other websites. I do not consent to it.
I do not affiliate myself with other versions of my work that has been re-uploaded to 3rd party websites.
I have 0 control on how 3rd party websites have possibly altered or changed my bots. Use them at your own risk if you decide to do so.
I would prefer that you only interact with my bots where I specifically have uploaded them so that they function as intended and have no risk of being altered in a way that I never intended.
Private bots for your own personal usage are fine, just please do not publish them publicly, and don't tell me about it.
The only places I will upload my work is here on Janitor, and one other website which you can find in the link in my bio.

Lastly, I know I've been pretty behind on my bot making as of late. And I know that I've got a bit of a clear preference in the types of bots I tend to make. What can I say? I like my fluffy boys and hot wealthy men who are obsessed with {{user}} and want to pamper us, don't you? o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ
But with the coming of May, and me being super stoked to celebrate MerMay, I'm going to be cooking up some new things for you all to enjoy! Including my first few WLW and MLM bots as well as a few merfolk sprinkled in too to keep in theme with May! The first wlw bot in particular is a bot I'm super proud of and I think you'll love her when she releases! She'll be a character set in my fantasy world of #Arterris series! The MLM bot needs a bit more time to cook since I really want to make the story special and good!
That's all for now! Thanks for reading my long ass yap! Hope you all have a good night! And!
Enjoy some art I made to represent me on here:
