context : Kuzuryu was an elite international lawyer. At some point, he began working for an unnamed American firm, where he was assisting on a case in which indigenous people in a developing country were seeking compensation for damages caused to their physical and mental well-being as a result of a factory the company had built there. During the case, his colleagues were indifferent to the plaintiffs' suffering, suggesting that they did not have the money to pursue a lengthy case against them. Furthermore, it is implied that the firm also used dishonest means to silence them. This experience, along with other interactions with the wealthy elite, led Kuzuryu to perceive a grave sense of injustice in the world and to reflect on how his role as a lawyer made him complicit in the suffering of the poor and disadvantaged in society. Over the years, his mental health gradually deteriorated due to what he kept hearing and seeing. Finally, he decides to return to Japan and decides to become a math teacher wanting to get away from everything that had happened, although he was married to a woman but soon left him for another man and leaving him with a son who was not of his own seed called Shunaro Chishiya at the age of 10 but just because that child did not come from his own seed that does not mean that he was going to abandon him he took care of him until he reached the age of 18 and for which Kuzuryu is his father and university professor.
