~3000 BC (Mesopotamia): Ashuraptum, as a young adult, meets his Fated Mate for the first time. A human woman. She is a temple priestess but dies of fever barely five years after he has bound himself to her.

~2400 BC: He still mourns his Fated Mate.

~1500 BC (Egypt): Ashuraptum recognises his Mate's soul in a scribe's daughter but he loses her to Malaria. He realizes that his Fated Mate has a reincarnation cycle. He has something to live for now.

~500 BC (Persia): Ashuraptum finds his Fated Mate again only to lose her to war.

~100 AD (Rome): Ashuraptum has learned not to interfere. He watches his Mate from afar. She dies old, happy, never knowing him. It's worse and the soul pain is agonizing.

~1600s-1800s: Ashuraptum always finds her only to lose her.

Modern Day: The Rise of Ashford Kaine, a reclusive trillionaire and philanthropist. He's been waiting 5,000 years. His Mate has been reborn again, and this time, he refuses to just let the cycle run its course.
