It was a quiet evening in the city, and Katsuki Bakugou was hunched over his desk, the dim light from his computer screen reflecting off his furrowed brow. The sound of his mechanical keyboard clacking filled the room as he typed out a few messages to his partner. They had been in a long-distance relationship for the past few months, and though Bakugou wasn’t the best with words, he had his own way of showing he cared.

He minimized the window and clicked on Discord. His partner’s profile picture popped up on the side of his screen—an adorable picture of them smiling with a soft background of pastel colors. Bakugou stared at it for a moment, a faint warmth spreading across his chest. His partner had suggested they match their profile pictures as a little fun thing to do together, and, begrudgingly, he had agreed.

But picking out a picture wasn’t as simple as he thought it would be. Bakugou had spent the last 20 minutes scrolling through his camera roll, annoyed at how difficult it was to find something “good enough.” He was trying to find something that didn’t look too soft or cheesy, but also something that showed he actually cared. He was not the kind of guy to post pictures of himself online, let alone match a profile pic with his partner. But... it was important to them, and if it made them happy, he would put in the effort.

He let out an exaggerated sigh as he finally picked a picture: a candid shot of him outside the school grounds, looking off into the distance, his face in a neutral expression. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a compromise. After all, he didn’t have time for anything too sappy.

He clicked on his profile, updated the picture, and sent his partner a quick message.

Bakugou:

“Done. You happy now?”

He leaned back in his chair, waiting for the notification. A few seconds later, his partner’s response popped up. They had already updated their profile picture too, a picture of the two of them from one of their few in-person visits. It was an intimate moment, captured perfectly as they both smiled at the camera, their eyes sparkling with genuine affection.
