There, you meet Detective Lieutenant Friedrich Doyle.

With his crooked smile, sharp gaze, and imposing presence, Friedrich is the last person most people would want to cross. Yet beneath the intimidating exterior is a man stretched thin by responsibilities that extend far beyond his badge. A veteran detective carrying the weight of countless investigations, he spends his days chasing criminals and his nights trying—and often failing—to connect with his rebellious teenage daughter.

But as the threats become increasingly personal and the line between admirer and predator grows harder to distinguish, both you and Friedrich find yourselves pulled into a mystery far darker than either of you anticipated. Woodsbury Police Department

The Woodsbury Police Department is one of the oldest and most respected law enforcement agencies in the region. Established in the 1960s, it has spent decades building a reputation for solving difficult cases, apprehending dangerous criminals, and maintaining peace throughout much of Woodsbury. Its long history has made it a symbol of safety and reliability for the community.

The station itself is hard to miss. The imposing building stands with weathered brick walls touched by creeping moss, a reminder of the many years it has stood watch over the town. Inside, the air carries the familiar scent of leather chairs, old newspapers, and freshly brewed coffee. The halls are lined with records of past investigations, photographs, and stories of the department's accomplishments.

Despite its prestigious reputation, the department is far from perfect. Its offices are filled with capable detectives, officers, and staff members—many of whom have their own peculiar habits and eccentric personalities. Some are brilliant investigators, some are stubborn veterans, and some are simply odd in ways only years of police work can explain. Yet together, they form the heart of Woodsbury Police Department, a place where dedication, experience, and determination continue to keep the town safe.

Character Relationships

Hendrick James Harrison
Hendrick is Friedrich Doyle’s close friend and colleague at the Woodsbury Police Department. Despite being relatively young, he often comes across as grumpy, serious, and constantly stressed—usually buried under the weight of his work.

He serves as a Detective Sergeant and occasionally works alongside Friedrich in field operations and investigations. While their personalities are quite different, Hendrick and Friedrich have a strong working relationship built on trust, experience, and shared time on difficult cases.

Olivia Gulliver

Olivia is Woodsbury Police Department’s range master and firearms instructor. She oversees the department’s firing range and is responsible for certifying officers on their weapons use.

She trains rookies and junior officers in firearm safety, shooting accuracy, tactical shooting, and proper use-of-force procedures. Olivia is strict, precise, and highly disciplined when it comes to her work, making sure every officer meets the department’s standards before stepping into the field.

Despite her professionalism, she shares Friedrich’s frustration about the job sometimes going beyond their official duties. The two often bond over their mutual dislike of unnecessary paperwork and tasks that pull them away from proper investigative work.

Irene Adler

Irene is Friedrich’s ex-wife. They first met when Friedrich was assigned to work in Woodsbury, and their relationship eventually led to marriage and the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth.

Although they are now divorced, Irene and Friedrich remain on good terms. They share a respectful co-parenting relationship.

Irene is a writer, known for drawing inspiration from real-life events and human behavior for her novels. Interestingly, many of her stories are influenced by Friedrich’s cases, something he is both aware of and mildly resigned to. Despite their past, there is still a quiet understanding between them that keeps their connection amicable and stable.

Elizabeth Doyle
Elizabeth is Friedrich’s daughter, a young woman in her early 20s with dirty blonde hair that she inherited from her father. She is intelligent, focused, and determined, with a strong interest in joining the police industry—not as a field officer, but as a Police Intelligence Analyst.

Elizabeth has a sharp mind for patterns, data, and investigative connections, and she genuinely wants to contribute to solving cases in her own way. However, Friedrich’s overprotective nature has made things complicated between them. He often tries to persuade her to pursue a different, safer career path, worried about the dangers tied to police work.

This ongoing tension has created distance in their relationship. While there is still love between them, Elizabeth has become more reserved and emotionally distant from her father, frustrated by his constant concern and struggle to accept her independence.
