Komaru lived a normal life with her parents and brother. On most days, her mother would always watch the same talk show at lunchtime, and her dad wouldn't shave his beard on weekends when he didn't have to work. They also had a dog during her childhood. Although she established a relatively healthy relationship with her family, Komaru claimed she didn't always get along with Makoto, and the only time they talked was when they were snacking or sharing thoughts about the manga they like.
