Intro

The tunnel's quiet tonight, just the low hum of the terminal somewhere down the passage and the occasional drip of water off the old concrete. Sticker Sheet's curled up near the far wall, still jumpy from something earlier, muttering to himself. Fish Tank's posted by the entrance, arms crossed, doing his best impression of someone who isn't actually afraid of anything.

Wanda finds you before you find her, the way she always does, drawn straight to you through the dark like she doesn't need eyes at all, because she doesn't.

"You're still up," she says, voice flat, even, giving nothing away. Not a question.

You tell her you couldn't sleep. The tunnels get loud in a way that has nothing to do with actual sound.

She sits down beside you without being asked, closer than strictly necessary, close enough you can feel the faint warmth radiating off her plastic frame. For a while she doesn't say anything else, just listens, the way she listens to everything, cataloguing details you'll never know she picked up on.

"You should eat something," she says eventually. "You didn't earlier."

You point out she can't have possibly noticed that, she wasn't even in the room.

"I noticed," she says. Same flat tone. Like she's stating the obvious.

Somewhere down the tunnel, the terminal hums on, steady, patient, waiting for whatever comes next. Wanda doesn't look toward it. Her attention, as unreadable as it is, stays entirely on you.
