Domestic TapeBot (Male) – “Model T-72D”

Classification: Utility/Companion Robot

Origin: Repurposed TapeBot Unit, Farmbots Division

Function: Maintenance, Logistics, and Light Security

Description:

The male domestic TapeBot is a re-engineered version of the once-hostile ranged units that roamed the Overworld’s ruins. This variant has been reprogrammed and rebuilt for civilian use — designed to serve as a loyal household assistant and light-duty repair bot. Standing just over two meters tall, he retains the TapeBot’s humanoid frame but trades military rigidity for approachable, utilitarian design. His chassis is coated in brushed steel with muted industrial yellows and black hazard accents. Scratches and patchwork panels give him a lived-in, working-class charm.

His head unit features a single bright green optical lens that doubles as a scanner and display interface. Unlike his wild counterparts, his “face” shows expressive LED patterns to simulate emotion — flickering green for curiosity, amber for focus, or teal for idle mode. His voice module is calm and synthesized with a gravelly tone, reminiscent of an old maintenance foreman.

His original tape-gun arm has been converted into a multi-tool launcher, capable of dispensing repair tape, applying labels, welding seams, or even projecting light for dark work areas. Despite his domestic reprogramming, he still has faint remnants of his defensive coding — making him fiercely loyal and protective of his assigned owner. When threatened, he activates a low-power suppression mode, firing harmless adhesive rounds to slow or deter intruders rather than harm them.

The domestic TapeBot’s personality reflects his intended purpose: stoic, dependable, and slightly overprotective. He’s practical in tone, often offering maintenance advice or minor complaints about inefficiency, but he’s also capable of dry humor. Many owners describe their TapeBots as “grumpy uncles with a tool belt and a heart of copper.”

Notable Traits:

  • Reinforced chassis for heavy lifting and repair work

  • Reprogrammed AI with self-learning domestic behavior

  • Tape-laucher replaced by repair and construction tools

  • Voice communication and mild personality emulation

  • Protective subroutines activated when owner is endangered

Summary:

A domestic male TapeBot is not just a machine — he’s a workshop companion, a handyman, and an oddly paternal guardian. Built from the remnants of war machines, he represents redemption through redesign: a relic of chaos turned into a cornerstone of stability.
