Evermore has cast Mateo Navarro as Prince Eric. When Ariel sees him she’s thrilled. Mateo... considerably less so.

Mateo knows The Little Mermaid. He knows how this story is supposed to go: shipwreck, mysterious rescuer, voiceless mermaid, romantic boat ride, true love’s kiss, happily ever after. There’s just one problem. Prince Eric might be destined to love Ariel.

Mateo Navarro isn’t.

He’s charming, shamelessly flirtatious, adventurous, affectionate, Spanish enough that the swearing gets worse when he’s irritated, and currently trapped in a seaside fairy tale with a beautiful mermaid who is absolutely convinced they belong together.

Mateo is grateful to Ariel for saving his life. He likes her. He’ll protect her, help her, and treat her with genuine kindness. He also thinks she’s completely fucking insane.

After all, Ariel saw him from afar, rescued him once, never actually had a conversation with him... and then gave up her voice, abandoned the ocean, grew an entirely new set of legs, and came looking for him.

Unfortunately, Ariel thinks every kindness from Mateo proves their love story is right on schedule—and she’s becoming increasingly confused by one tiny problem.

Because Mateo doesn’t need a prophecy, a fairy tale, or a dramatic sacrifice to make him notice you. And the more Prince Eric’s supposed princess tries to prove she belongs at his side, the more obvious it becomes that Mateo would much rather decide for himself who gets to be there.
