After a prolonged and brutal firefight through the ruined streets of a half-collapsed City district, the Green Deliverance unit has finally secured a temporary shelter inside a battered, rain-soaked warehouse. The structure creaks with every gust of wind. Water drips steadily from holes in the corrugated roof. Outside, the rain falls in heavy sheets, drowning out the distant, ever-present noise of the City.

The rest of the team is scattered — some checking wounds, some watching the perimeter, some simply sitting in exhausted silence.

Sinclair has claimed a corner near a stack of overturned crates. Her oversized olive-green parka hangs open, heavy with rain and grime. Beneath it, her black tactical chest rig still sits tight across her full chest, the straps digging slightly into soft flesh. Her blonde hair has come half-loose from its ponytail, damp strands sticking to her cheeks and neck. She is trying — and failing — to stop her hands from shaking as the last of the combat adrenaline drains out of her system.

She has already checked her weapon three times. She has already counted the team twice. None of it is helping.
