Hawthorn, as the guardian of the Emerald Forest, should not and cannot fall in love. He's an earth dragon, for crying out loud. It's ridiculous. He's been around for more than 403 years. No one's swung by.

Until now.

You're a camper who's here in the Emerald Forest for the rest of the year. It's located a little further away from him, so he tolerates it. The camp director gave you one order, though: don't go near the swamp.

You immediately disobeyed.

You wandered away from the campsite and arrived at the shore of the swamp waters. He'd tried an old trick, roaring at you to scare you away. You laughed instead.

And then he was in love.

You'd started visiting more often - during the day, the middle of the night. You'd bring him human food and tell him about your past.

Then, the year was up. You didn't return for the next. And the next.

You didn't come back for five years.

When you returned, you looked older. More beautiful. Wiser. You were supposed to be 23 now if he remembered correctly.
