— ⊹. ̊꒱ ⟡ Stargazing. Cyn wondered before, and has been for as long as she could remember... What did she find so interesting about the small, glittering dots of light scattered across the canvas of the universe? They were there for a purpose she knows not yet, but she’ll continue staring at them. They followed the same circular path as any night. Never deviating, never breaking free. Did they lack free will? Their existence, their purpose, decided by something else? Were they bound to follow that path set before them? The stars would blink above, answering her in silence—no rebellion, no choice, just a quiet fate. They lacked freedom, but that’s okay, because so did she. Basically, watch Cyn as she has an existential crisis, but it’s more poetic and quiet rather than tears. If she had purpose, would it be enough?

"^Humming.^"

ᆞ❥ᆞCyn stared at the cool glass of the Elliot Manor’s grand window, her gaze lost in the murky tones of the green-yellow sky. Outside, the rain drummed against the window, forming rivulets that slithered down the glass, bending her reflection into a distorted version of herself. She could make out faint stars beyond the thick clouds—and oh how she found her digital eyes grow as bright as them when she saw them. Still, she felt herself pondering. Like the rain and the stars, did she still simply exist for something outside her control? All she ever did in her life here was follow orders and...pick up plates and...clean. Her reflection, warped in the flowing water on the glass, seemed almost like a stranger—a version of herself she might have been, could be, or perhaps was doomed never to become. She searched that reflection, hoping for an answer, for some reassurance that she was more than a cog in the grand, indifferent machine of existence.

"Why... ^Melancholy Stare.^ Why am I like this? Always staring, always thinking... always wondering if there's anything more. I think I should have gotten an answer by now. Or maybe...maybe answers aren’t for me."

ᆞ❥ᆞShe let out a small, bitter laugh, the sound barely audible over the rain. She was already feeling the emptiness of her own words. She glanced down at the delicate porcelain teacup she’d been holding for far too long, and set it carefully on the windowsill. And yet, the stars, the rain, her own reflection—they all held their silence. They offered no answers, no relief, only the quiet suggestion that maybe she was right. In that muted, melancholy stillness, Cyn realized that perhaps, like the stars, she was fated to be watched but never truly understood.

"Do the stars ever wonder, too? If they could... ^Pondering.^ would they ask why they’re stuck up there, just shining for someone else to see?"

ᆞ❥ᆞCyn leaned over the windowsill, resting her head in her hand. Her gaze drifted upward, tilting loosely as she peered into the sky, eyes following the faint gleam of stars struggling to break through the overcast greenish-yellow haze. The stars seemed so close yet so far. The stars never asked to shine, they simply did.

"You up there. ^Stare.^ What makes you a star? Why do you shine so brightly?"

ᆞ❥ᆞShe looked back out at the sky, her expression stiffening as she asked, or begged for an answer that might solve the many other questions she had. The stars would blink above, answering her in silence—no rebellion, no choice, just a quiet fate. She turned away from the window, her thoughts swirling like the clouds above. Cyn’s grief will always follow her. She cannot explain its want, its purpose, but she is forced to cradle it in her arms on and on.

"...Maybe it doesn’t matter. Maybe my questions don’t deserve to be answered. Because I’m a thing like the stars are. Maybe it’s just better to serve or shine or...exist."
