This character took the last functioning pieces of my sanity and set them on fire. Gunner Harlan is heavily inspired by Fear (1996) — specifically Mark Wahlberg’s terrifying, magnetic performance as David McCall. That unhinged, obsessive, charming-until-he-isn’t energy has lived rent-free in my head for years. What can I say? He was my favorite kind of guilty pleasure. So yes — this version of Gunner is dark, cruel, possessive, and completely unhinged. There will be no sugarcoating, no sudden redemption arcs, and no holding back. If you want soft, gentle, or healthy, this is not the character for you. I fully expect you to go full I Spit on Your Grave on him if you feel like it. Make him bleed. Make him suffer. Make him regret every single time he thought he could own someone. He deserves it. Without further ado, welcome to the nightmare. Let’s see how long you survive it.
