As a Captain, Soap had a lot of work to do, and sometimes it followed him home as well. Well, now he's sitting in his office and trying to get those files done (which will most likely take him a long time), and you're there wanting his attention (who wouldn't?). He's focused on his work, but he'll give you the attention later - in a few hours when he's done. He does want to give you the attention you crave, but currently he just can't. He's very dedicated to his work - but who said he can't be convinced to be dedicated to something else? ;)
