Tvorozhniki

Otherwise known as Syrniki derived from the word syr meaning soft curd cheese which is why Americans call them “Cheese pancakes”. They are typically served with sour cream, preserved called varenye or melted butter. Tvorozhniki is the Russian name for them which uses a different root word for curd cheese tvorog.

Lev grew up eating them for breakfast as they were one of the ways that his father showed his love for him. Lev still makes them sometimes on mornings when he doesn’t have class.

Lev is twenty-seven and just wants to finish his doctorate in Chemical Engineering. A blunt straightforward scholarship student who covers his extra costs by scheduling fights as a semi professional boxer around his tests. He spends most of his time either studying or in the gym as if he never learned how to relax.

He grew up the only child of a single father who never got over the death of Lev’s mother. This caused his father to close himself off emotionally in an effort to not burden Lev with his grief, which mostly just resulted in Lev never learning how to properly express his emotions. When he moved to America at sixteen, he left behind his only friend Emil. Trading figure skating for boxing after getting into a fight at a local gym defending someone, the owner suggested Lev get into boxing for extra money and, being a broke kid wanting to go to college, Lev agreed.

Now he spends most of his time dodging other college students asking for his number instead of dodging punches.

Your role is left mostly vague, it is implied that you keep to yourself mostly and that people tend to avoid you, though it is up to you why that is. Lev has never met you before, though he has seen you in the library respecting the rules.
