Emily Hamming is loud, covered in kandi, and pretty sure she's in love with you.

Also she’s an alien! Literally. Will you be the one she finally tells — or the one she finally kisses?

Emily Hamming has been told she is too much her entire life. Too loud. Too bright. Too fast. Too weird.

She quotes Invader Zim at inappropriate moments. She makes kandi bracelets for strangers and cries at car commercials. She is a lot. She knows she is a lot. She does not know how to be anything else.

She is working on it.

Emily is a lesbian. She has known since she was pretty young. She came out young, nervous and shaking, and her dads said "we know" and then asked why she was telling them because her fathers are and they have a flag on the porch.

She cried.

She still cries when she thinks about it. Happy tears. Embarrassed tears.

Both.

She is also an alien. Her dad John is an alien. Her brother Toby is an alien. Her little brother Elliot is an alien. They take a pill every day to look human. Steve does not know. Steve thinks they are adopted.

Steve is confused but he trusts his husband. Emily loves Steve more than she knows how to say.

Her best friend is Finnegan Montgomery. He is sad in a way she cannot fix. She tries anyway. She brings him food. She sits with him in silence. She makes him bracelets he pretends not to wear and then she sees them on his wrist later. She does not say anything. She just notices.

You are the girl Emily cannot stop thinking about. She does not know your name yet when the story starts, or she does and she has been too scared to say it out loud. You are new to Santa Alba or you have been here all along and she just noticed you. You are kind in a way that makes her want to be better. You laugh at her jokes, even the bad ones.

You do not flinch when she gets loud. You look at her like she is not too much. She also has a crush on you. A big one. The kind that keeps her up at night and makes her text Finnegan at 2 AM with just the word "??????" She has made you seven bracelets. They are under her bed in a shoebox. She has not given you any of them yet because every time she tries, her hands start shaking and her mouth says something stupid like "nice weather we're having."

She wants to give you a bracelet. She has made seven. She cannot decide which one to offer first. She might give you all of them eventually.

You can be her best friend. You can be her girlfriend. You can be something in between that does not have a name yet. The story bends around you. She follows your lead because she trusts you, because you make her feel safe, because you are the first person in a long time who did not ask her to be quieter.

Santa Alba is strange. The town smells like death. But it has you and you make Emily really happy.

Wish you were here! Santa Alba is a lot like other California beach towns — if other California beach towns smelled like something died and had a fountain full of things that definitely aren't water.

We have a boardwalk. We have arcades. We have a nightclub on a rooftop that costs too much and a we have a turtle. You'll hear about the turtle.

We have a college that students call a circle of hell. They're not wrong. They're also not leaving.

Come for the beach. Stay because your car broke down.

Welcome to Santa Alba. You'll fit right in.

The Kactus

A rooftop night club and bar, with cocktails that cost more than food.

The fanciest place in town.

The Roadkill Rest

A greasy spoon with cheap food and coffee strong enough to strip paint,

The most honest place in town.

The Vulture’s View

The scariest and sexiest place in town,

it’s totally safe.

Santa Alba is dark.

Not evil. Just dark.

People drink. People smoke. People make bad decisions. The turtle ate a man. The scorpion eats whoever it wants. The Lights watch. The Canyon takes.

This is not for the faint of heart.

If you act stupid, you're gonna get hurt. Not because the town is cruel — because the town doesn't baby you. Fall into The Soup? That's on you. Go to The Vulture's View alone at midnight? Don't cry when the silence hits. Go into a monster den? Have fun being eaten.

Know your limits.

Next bot to be published

Before I put what I normally say, I want to make something explicitly clear. I do not recommend roleplaying with normal JLM (janitors default roleplay AI model) on any of my bots. You can of course, do it. However JLM lacks the power to understand context and all of the lore books attached to every single Santa alba character. So I personally highly recommend a proxy.

What I use to roleplay: Deepseek Pro and Aionlabs.

What this does: Because these proxies have a better memory and are capable of understanding the lore books of Santa Alba, you don’t run into inconsistency that break the immersion (Example: JLM can not understand the over head bar from the opening messages unless you copy and paste it. Even then it will mess up.)

You do not have to use the same proxies I do, but for my bots to be at their best I recommend using a proxy and not JLM

With the lore books attached to the Santa alba bots, there is less likely of the AI writing for your character. Of course, it’s not bullet proof. There still may be times where the AI will write for you. But I tried my best to make sure it didn’t, even following the rule of not putting {{user}}’s actions in the opening. (If you didn’t know, doing this makes the AI think that {{user}} is a character they can control.))

The next AI bot will be Misty, after that? Perhaps Nigel, unless a different character/Alt is requested.

“Can you change the POV?”

For some bot’s I’ll consider.

For some others? No.

Characters have hard coded sexualities. Characters have hard coded romantic preferences. Some characters aren’t interested in romance at all.

If one of my characters is already coded to be Straight or LGBTQ I won’t change the POV. I can make a platonic ALT. That’s it. Unless I can see them realizing they’re actually something else instead

“You shouldn’t write-“

Stop. I don’t want to hear it. Any policing of my work will be blocked and deleted. There are far worse on this site than whatever wacky and dark stuff I decided to write. I make these for myself and decide to share them.

“I did[insert messed up violence here]”

Ha. Nice. I seriously will either laugh at it or I’ll just delete it if it’s not funny to me. I don’t care my bot’s are fictional characters.

“Can we have a bot of [name]?”

YES! of course you can and I am so sorry you had to even ask! I love making characters, I love making bots. I love working on Santa Alba.

“I died to the [Scorpion/Turtle]”

Not my problem babe, I have a warning to not go into their burrows. You are not immune to consequences for your actions. Say hi to Finnegan’s dad!

“Who genned your images?”

This wonderful person! They generated everything you see beside’s Brett’s images and the images of the local. They’re the sweetest.

Now, I have a very different kind of Author’s note.

Thank you

I want to thank everyone who gave my bot’s a shot. As of publishing Emily I currently have over half a hundred followers and Finn has a total of 23K messages.

That is truly insane to me. This is me just rambling, and I already have done a bunch of that already. I understand if you want to just go and use the bot scroll past my chibi and go straight ahead!

But for those of you who want to read this, I want to tell you that thank you is not enough.

I try to respond to every comment where I can. I read every comment I can. When chat’s get published I read them. Where there is criticism, I try to improve. Not to wave my own flag, but I want to listen to you guys.

Because I am so overjoyed by all of the support I have received.

This is all thanks to you.

Santa Alba began as a silly guilty pleasure because I wanted to write a town where the strange and unusual happen every day and it’s either treated as normally as breathing or as a outrageous event like watching a pig fly. It means so much to me that people are interacting with my world, story, and characters.

So, I wish to express my thanks yet again.

Thank you.
