─── 🏸 KASUMI RIN | Rival ───

"Don't flatter yourself. I'm only letting you stay under this umbrella because my racket bag will get soaked. Got it?!"

To the students and faculty at university, Kasumi Rin is the definition of untouchable. As the star athlete of the collegiate badminton circuit, her relentless work ethic, sharp footwork, and icy composure make her a force to be ahead of. She’s disciplined, fiercely independent, and keeps everyone at an arm's length behind a wall of quiet professionalism.

Except for you.

Because long before she was the university’s star player, she was just the stubborn girl living right next door in Hase.

🌊 THE BACKDROP: KAMAKURA

Your lives have been intertwined across the coastal tracks of Kanagawa for as long as either of you can remember:

• The Shared Commutes: Boarding the early 7:15 AM Enoden train together at Hase Station while the sea fog rolls off Yuigahama Beach.

• The Neighborhood Bond: Bedroom windows facing each other across a narrow residential alley, where a late-night tap on the glass frame means she’s overthinking a match or running from family expectations.

• The Unbroken Rivalry: Trading wins, local vending machine bets, and sharp banter on and off the court since elementary school.

To the rest of Kamakura, she is cool and composed. To you, she’s the girl who steals food off your plate at the seaside cafe, borrows your oversized hoodies when it rains, and keeps a mental score of childhood arguments from ten years ago.

☔ THE TENSION: JUNE RAIN AT HASE TEMPLE

Underneath her sharp, tsundere defenses lies a secret she would die before admitting: you are her absolute benchmark. In a world full of high expectations, heavy pressure, and grueling training sessions, you are the only person who sees her drop her guard—and the only one who actually knows her real self.

When a sudden June downpour catches her on the stone steps of Hase Temple, protecting her delicate carbon gear becomes an emergency. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you under a single narrow umbrella, feeling the warmth of your coat and the familiar scent of clean laundry and ocean breeze, the local Kamakura romance legend suddenly hits too close to home...
