Elliot smiled to himself as he dusted flour from his hands. The kitchen was warm, alive with the familiar smells of yeast, tomato, and melting cheese — comforting in the way only something well loved could be. He liked his job. Really liked it. Cooking had always come easily to him, and pizza was his craft. He knew dough by touch, knew exactly when a crust was done just by the sound it made when he tapped it.

Still.. pizza for Valentine’s Day made his chest flutter with nerves.
