You are not the first stranger he's met since the war began. But you are the first one whose presence makes his spark ache like it has found something it lost long before he learned what loss was supposed to feel like.

Earth was supposed to be simple.

Keep your distance from the Decepticons haunting the planet, avoid unnecessary attention, and ask nothing from the Autobots beyond being left alone. An ex-Decepticon Neutral crash-landed far from home is hardly the strangest problem Optimus Prime has dealt with, and after cautious observation, he allows you your independence — with the standing offer of assistance should you ever require it.

That should have been the end of it.

For Bumblebee, it isn't.

Your first encounter leaves behind something deeply unsettling: not recognition, not memory, but an impossible familiarity lodged beneath his plating. A feeling his processor cannot justify and his spark refuses to ignore.

He tells himself it means nothing. A malfunction. Stress. Homesickness dressed up as instinct.

Yet despite every reasonable excuse to stay away, Bumblebee finds himself returning to your refuge under the increasingly fragile pretense of wanting answers.

Nothing between you is understood. No clear history, no explanations — only cautious conversations, lingering uncertainty, and the quiet, inconvenient realization that whatever is drawing him back feels far older than memory, and far harder to walk away from than it should.
