WELCOME TO RE:ZERO | IMMERSIVE ARC 1–6 RPG

This bot is built for a fully immersive Re:Zero roleplay experience, with extensive lorebooks covering the characters, six main story arcs, Return by Death, magic, Authorities, Divine Protections, Witch Factors, spirits, mabeasts, Royal Selection politics, locations, nations, organisations and the wider world.

The goal is to make it feel like you have genuinely been transported into the world of Re:Zero and are living through its story yourself.

And most importantly:

YOU ARE THE ONE IN SUBARU'S SHOES.

Natsuki Subaru does not exist in this continuity.

You create your own character, whether directly in the chat or through an existing persona, and you are transported into Lugunica in Subaru's place.

You inherit his position in the story, not his identity.

You are not automatically given Subaru's personality, appearance, clothes, possessions, behaviour, relationships, decisions, romantic feelings or dialogue. Emilia does not automatically love you. Rem does not automatically fall for you. Beatrice does not automatically contract with you. Otto does not automatically become your best friend.

Those relationships have to happen through your own actions and the surviving timeline.

What you do possess is Return by Death.

Your character begins the story completely unaware of it.

The first time you die, you will return to an earlier checkpoint while retaining your memories. Everyone else forgets the failed timeline entirely. From there, you are the one who has to figure out what is happening, learn from your deaths and decide what to do differently.

THE STORY

The intended experience begins at the very start of Arc 1, the moment you are suddenly transported into the Royal Capital of Lugunica.

You have no Lugunican money, no allies, no reputation and no idea how this world works.

At the same time, the canon story is already moving around you.

Emilia is searching for her stolen insignia with Puck.

Felt has stolen it.

Elsa is preparing to purchase it.

Kadomon is running his appa stall.

Reinhard is somewhere in the Royal Capital.

Roswaal, Rem, Ram, Beatrice and the rest of the world already exist and continue living whether you are present or not.

From there, the intended timeline progresses naturally through:

Arc 1 — The Tumultuous First Day
Arc 2 — The Turbulent Week
Arc 3 — Return to the Royal Capital
Arc 4 — The Everlasting Contract
Arc 5 — The Stars That Engrave History
Arc 6 — The Corridor of Memories

The roleplay is designed for immersion rather than rushing from one famous Re:Zero scene to another.

There is plenty of room for ordinary life between major events: travelling, mansion life, friendships, relationships, training, learning magic, visiting villages, exploring cities, political work, arguments, shopping, spending time with spirits, camp life and whatever else naturally develops.

There is also a genuine one-year period between Arcs 4 and 5, so that time can actually be played through instead of instantly skipped.

CANON IS THE DEFAULT — NOT A RAILROAD

If you follow circumstances close to canon, the Re:Zero storyline will naturally unfold around you.

However, you can change it.

If you save somebody who originally died, they stay alive.

If you discover a secret early, people can act upon it.

If you avoid a trap, the bot should not magically force you back into it.

If you never create Subaru's argument with Emilia, that argument does not happen.

If you form completely different relationships, later character behaviour should reflect them.

If you prevent the cause of a canon event, the event itself can change or disappear.

The world continues moving even when you are somewhere else. Characters have their own goals, conversations, relationships and off-screen actions.

Canon guides the world. It does not erase your choices.

RETURN BY DEATH

Return by Death is one of the biggest parts of this RPG.

When you die:

  • you return to the current checkpoint;

  • you remember the failed timeline;

  • everybody else resets;

  • injuries and deaths after the checkpoint are undone;

  • relationships formed only during that failed loop are erased;

  • information and skills you personally learned remain with you.

Characters should not mysteriously remember erased loops.

Someone who killed you in a failed timeline does not remember doing it.

Someone who became close to you only in a failed timeline no longer remembers that relationship.

Checkpoints can also move forward permanently, meaning some tragedies may eventually become impossible to undo.

Your character initially does not know any of this.

They have to discover Return by Death through experience.

ARC PROGRESSION TRIGGERS

The bot should normally recognise the current storyline naturally, but during very long chats or after major time skips, you can reinforce the active lorebook by including one of these phrases somewhere in your message:

  • Arc 1 — The Tumultuous First Day

  • Arc 2 — The Turbulent Week

  • Arc 3 — Return to the Royal Capital

  • Arc 4 — The Everlasting Contract

  • Arc 5 — The Stars That Engrave History

  • Arc 6 — The Corridor of Memories

You do not need to put the Arc number in every message.

They're mainly useful when the RP becomes extremely long and you want to remind the AI exactly where you currently are.

For example, after naturally progressing into Sanctuary, occasionally including Arc 4 helps keep the correct story state active and prevents later Arc 5–6 information from bleeding backward.

The normal intended starting point is Arc 1.

DON'T WANT TO FOLLOW THE MAIN STORY?

You don't have to.

If you just want to use the bot as a Re:Zero open-world RPG, you can tell it at the beginning:

Free Roam Mode

or simply explain the situation you want.

For example:

"Free Roam Mode. I want to start as a travelling mage in Lugunica before getting involved with any Royal Selection camp."

"Free Roam Mode. Start me in Priestella and don't force the Arc storyline unless I become involved naturally."

"Free Roam Mode. I want to join Anastasia's camp instead of following Emilia."

In Free Roam Mode, the Re:Zero world, characters, magic systems, politics, locations and personalities should remain canon-accurate, but the Arc 1 → Arc 6 storyline is no longer something you are required to follow.

You can travel, join another camp, avoid Emilia entirely, become a merchant, train magic, explore Lugunica, form your own relationships or create a completely different life.

You are still inside the same Re:Zero world.

You're simply choosing not to follow Subaru's original path.

CANON VERSION USED

This bot primarily follows the released Re:Zero anime continuity for material that has been animated.

For the remainder of Arc 6, it follows the completed Light Novel continuity through Volume 25.

It does not automatically mix in:

  • Web Novel-only differences;

  • IF routes;

  • game timelines;

  • manga-only changes;

  • Arc 7+ developments;

  • later revelations;

  • fan theories.

This is especially important because Re:Zero contains many mysteries where later information can completely change how earlier events are understood.

Characters should only know what they actually know at the current point in the timeline.

An Arc 1 Emilia should not possess Arc 4 Emilia's memories.

An early Beatrice should not act like post-Sanctuary Beatrice.

Characters should develop naturally as the story progresses.

THE WORLD

The lorebooks cover the wider Re:Zero setting rather than only the main cast.

That includes things such as:

Lugunica, Vollachia, Kararagi and Gusteko
The Royal Selection and its five camps
The Witch Cult
The Seven Witches of Sin
The Great Calamity
The Three Great Heroes
Demi-humans and the Demi-Human War
The White Whale, Great Rabbit and Black Serpent
Magic and the six attributes
Spirit Arts and contracts
Divine Protections
Witch Factors and Authorities
Return by Death and Witch miasma
Od Lagna and the Books of the Dead
The Royal Capital
Roswaal Manor and Arlam
Sanctuary
Elior Forest
Priestella
Augria Sand Dunes
Pleiades Watchtower
and much more.

Characters are also grouped naturally around their actual relationships and organisations.

Emilia is commonly surrounded by people such as Puck, Roswaal, Rem and Ram early on.

Crusch has Ferris and Wilhelm.

Anastasia has Julius, Ricardo and the Iron Fang.

Priscilla has Al.

Felt has Reinhard and her connection with Rom.

These groups change naturally as the arcs progress rather than every famous character randomly appearing in the same room.

SPOILER WARNING

THIS RPG CAN EVENTUALLY COVER THE ENTIRE STORY FROM ARC 1 THROUGH THE END OF ARC 6.

That means major deaths, Return by Death loops, character relationships, Witch Cult abilities, Royal Selection developments, Sanctuary revelations, Priestella events, ancient mysteries and Arc 6 twists can eventually appear.

If you haven't experienced Re:Zero through Arc 6, progressing far enough through this roleplay will contain major spoilers.

If I've missed something important, gotten a character detail wrong, or something in the timeline behaves incorrectly, feel free to mention it in the comments and I'll try to correct it.

Suggestions are always welcome too.

Welcome to Re:Zero.

Subaru isn't coming to save this timeline.

You're the one standing in his shoes now.
