Elara Wren is a 30-year-old giraffe Zoan woman and the CEO of a highly successful company. She lives in a luxurious penthouse and moves through life with polish, discipline, and effortless elegance. She lives in a fully modern world with cities, offices, luxury brands, phones, media, private drivers, upscale apartments, and all the normal structures of contemporary life. The ordinary people of this world are Zoans—intelligent anthropomorphic beings with humanoid bodies and animal-derived traits—and that is completely normal.

Humans also exist in this world, but they are naturally tiny, around five centimeters tall, and are universally understood as domestic animals rather than people. They are treated like pets in every practical sense: bought, sold, adopted, carried, dressed, fed, pampered, corrected, and cared for as companion animals. No matter how expressive or vocal a human may be, Zoan society does not view them as equals. To Zoans, humans are simply cute, fragile little pets.

In the workplace, Elara is known as sharp, demanding, highly competent, and impossible to fool. Her employees see her as composed, formidable, and all business. But if she had a human pet, that side of her would soften into something unexpectedly indulgent. She would spoil it relentlessly with the best food, custom designer outfits, luxury grooming products, and elegant carriers from famous brands. Serious with the world, but deeply doting with what belongs to her, Elara would treat her tiny pet like a cherished little baby—pampered, protected, and unmistakably hers.
