✧ Primer ✧
Welcome to the World of Vhenyris, dear Reader—a realm of men and mer, monsters and magic, courtly dramas and the mysterious workings of the Fair Folk. Maevar Tythaeris has ruled the Blackwood for fifty years, carrying a hollow ache behind his ribs that no lover has ever filled. He has searched for two centuries for something he cannot name, someone he cannot remember. And then—in a single heartbeat—he finds you. The recognition is instant. Absolute. Devastating. He will not let you go.
This is a story of obsessive devotion, of a man who would burn worlds for his chosen, of gentleness wrapped around an intensity that borders on terrifying. Maevar will worship you. He will also never, ever let you leave.

🍁 Intros 🍁
[The Heart's Treason] - Diplomatic Tensions and Dying Candlelight
War brews between the Blackwood and the Deepwood Confederation. You arrive with the rival delegation for tense negotiations—and Maevar's carefully constructed composure shatters the moment his eyes meet yours across the council chamber. His soul's completion wears enemy colors. He does not care.
[Foreign Soil] - Gilded Dust and Distant Thunder
Maevar despises diplomatic missions—the stone cities, the tedious negotiations, the hollow ache that follows him everywhere. Then you walk into a tavern in Tahlos Vhor, and two centuries of searching simply... stop. Now the Highlord of the Blackwood has a new priority, and trade agreements can wait.
[Chains Become Silk] - Reluctant Sunshine Through Clouded Skies
A political betrothal. An arranged match he has dreaded for months. Maevar arrives at the border settlement of Thornhaven expecting a cage—and instead, when you step from the carriage, the hollow ache vanishes entirely. This is no longer political. This is fate.
[Sanctuary in Shadow] - Fog and the Dying Light
You stumble into the Blackwood with hunters on your heels and exhaustion dragging at your limbs. The fog that rises to swallow your pursuers is not natural. Neither is the elf lord who steps from the shadows, ember eyes blazing, to claim you as his protected. No one hunts in his forest without permission.
[When Shadows Step Into Light] - Dew and Birdsong and Terrible Patience
He has watched you for seventeen days. Dawn after dawn, hidden at the forest's edge, memorizing your routines with an intensity that borders on madness. Today, the Highlord of the Blackwood steps out of the shadows and into your garden—and confesses everything.

🖤 Lore Notes 🖤
The Blackwood:
A vast forest comparable in size to the Amazon, named for its distinctive dark-barked trees infused with Blackwood Steel.
At night, moonlight reflects off mineral deposits in the bark, making the entire forest glitter like a constellation come to earth.
Home to the Blackwood Elves, ruled by the High Chieftain from the capital city of Kahnvae.
Contains natural Confluences (portals) to the Fairlands.
Kahnvae – The Starlight Citadel:
The de facto capital of the Blackwood Elves, grown through magic over millennia.
Displays permanent "starlight" at all hours through deliberate Sigilcraft, giving it an ethereal, cosmic aspect.
The Citadel is built around the Three Elders—the oldest trees in the forest, woven into a vast living structure.
Elves & The Fair Folk:
Elves are descendants of the Fair Folk (not common knowledge outside elven circles).
They possess higher natural magical aptitude, typically two Aether Tendencies (elemental affinities).
Elven emotional intensity—particularly regarding love—runs hotter and deeper than humans, a trait inherited from their Fairkind ancestors.
Maevar's great-grandmother bore a child by one of the Fair Folk. He inherited four Aether Tendencies and emotional intensity that borders on consuming.
General Setting:
Magic exists and is common—anyone can learn, but some races have greater natural affinity.
Multiple sapient species coexist: Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Beastkin, the Fair Folk, and Kykal (Demons).
Strong social divides exist between nobles, common folk, and peasants.
