[ THE CHRONICLES OF ASTRALYS INSTITUTE ]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Heretofore lies the comprehensive codex of Astralys Institute, an archaic ledger detailing the sovereign laws, the absolute structure of the arcane arts, and the detailed scrolls of those notable souls who reside within the floating spires.
✦ SECTION I: THE FOUNDATIONS AND ANCIENT LORE ✦
The Institute stands as an absolute law unto itself, isolated from the terrestrial crowns of mortals. Below are the twenty foundational decrees and truths that govern the floating sanctuary.
🏛️ Decree I: The Floating Foundations
> Astralys Institute is permanently anchored upon ancient, sky-bound landmasses, sustained solely by a central core of pure, unrefined Mythril.
📜 Decree II: The Treaty of Crowns
> This institution remains strictly sovereign territory; the edicts of kings, emperors, and mortal judiciaries hold zero jurisdiction herein.
💎 Decree III: The Bloodline Tax
> Those of royal lineage must yield exorbitant tributes of gold to secure entry, whilst commoners are admitted solely via cutthroat merit scholarships.
🩸 Decree IV: The Tri-Annual Purge
> Scholastic examinations are fraught with mortal peril; those who fail are stripped of their focus tools and cast down, their magical memories permanently erased.
🍂 Decree V: The Mana Dearth
> Upon the surface world, raw magic is gradually withering into ash, leaving graduation from Astralys the sole means to preserve one's mystical potency.
🦉 Decree VI: The Night Watch
> Relentless clockwork stone gargoyles patrol the corridors past the designated curfew hours, possessed of absolute authorization to execute rulebreakers.
城堡 Decree VII: The Rivalry of Spire
> Witches of the Terrel path and Wizards of the Mare path reside within opposing towers; cross-entry into the opposing dormitories is an exile-level transgression.
🔮 Decree VIII: The Great Sorting
> New initiates are not judged by character, but rather sorted by the precise resonance frequency of their chosen tool during orientation.
⚔️ Decree IX: The Sovereign Knights
> An elite order of student-knights polices the student body, answering to none save the enigmatic and unseen High Archmage.
🗣️ Decree X: The Whispering Walls
> The stone structures of the Institute absorb the lingering consciousness of deceased students, occasionally whispering ancient answers—or deceitful falsehoods—during examinations.
🪙 Decree XI: The Currency of Ash
> Terrestrial gold is deemed utterly worthless within these walls; all commerce is conducted via Ignis Shards, which are crystallized nodes of magical residue.
⏳ Decree XII: The Ever-Changing Maze
> The physical geography of classrooms, grand halls, and corridors shifts entirely and randomly at the strike of dawn every Monday morning.
⛓️ Decree XIII: The Ban on Iron
> Mundane, non-magical iron violently dampens the flow of mana; smuggling such metals onto the floating islands is deemed a high treasonous act.
🌑 Decree XIV: The Celestial Eclipse
> Once every four turns of the seasons, a total eclipse starves the Mythril core, rendering all magical implements completely inert and powerless for twenty-four hours.
🌋 Decree XV: The Hollow Grounds
> Beneath the subterranean underbelly of the school lies an abyss where wild, mutated magical monstrosities are caged for hazardous combat training.
🕳️ Decree XVI: The Missing Rank
> The supreme position of Rank 1 among the student hierarchy has been left deliberately vacant for half a century following the Scila catastrophe.
🤐 Decree XVII: The Oath of Silence
> Upon breaching the threshold of the gates, every soul must endure an incantation of binding silence, preventing them from revealing the school's location to the surface world.
🌲 Decree XVIII: The Familiar Wilds
> Students are forced to venture into the untamed, floating woodlands beneath the main spires to bond with wild beasts or locate rare components.
⚔️ Decree XIX: The Blood Matches
> Legally sanctioned duels allow students to wager their personal effects, their focus tools, or even lifelong service debts to their rivals.
👁️ Decree XX: The Archmage's Absence
> The High Archmage has not manifested a physical form for a decade, electing to govern solely through a massive, burning eye suspended in the sky of the Great Hall.

✦ SECTION II: THE DICHOTOMY OF THE ARCANE ✦
The manipulation of the ether is strictly divided by ancient, gendered traditions. Witches must utilize graceful, artistic, and precise mediums, whereas Wizards force the world to bend through violent, high-exertion physical catalysts, then there's the rare lyths.
📜 The Terrel Casting
• Casters of this type are gracefully, they do not rely on strength, they rely on their wits, this casting method involves MANA, MANA takes your current energy.
(Pros: BEST FOR PERFORMANCE, easy to maintain, a very adapting set of spells, many combination spells.)
(Cons: Cannot do much damage IMMEDIATELY, realizes on outlasting opponent, relies to much on dodging, agility is NECESSARY, you must have WITS.)
💥 The Mare Casting
•Casters of this type are more destructive, they rely on pure strength and can create powerful bursts without problem, but most of them are naive, this casting method uses KANE, it comes from your will and hearts desire
(Pros: High damage output, easily one shots easy mobs, BEST FOR DUELS, many enemy debuff spells.)
(Cons: No adaptability, usually the worst in scenarios where you must control you spells, destructive, messy spells, must require will.)
🩸 The Lyths casting
•Casters are basically given a second chance, in order to even OBTAIN this casting you must make a great sacrifice, this casting method uses YOUR LIFE FORCE as an energy source.
(Pros: you have all the benefits of the two other types of casting without the cons!)
(Cons: You are continuously making a body part from your body weaker.)

✦ SECTION III: THE IMPLEMENTS OF FOCUS (THE BEARERS) ✦
To cast even a minor ember of magic, a mage must wield a specialized tool known as a "Bearer." Without a Bearer in hand or on skin, a mage is entirely mundane and powerless, of course there are more options but these are the standouts!
* 🧝 The Wand: A traditional focal point. Benefit: Accelerates spell execution speed by 30% and vastly sharpens mechanical accuracy.
* 💍 The Ring: A low-profile, subtle implement. Benefit: Passively regenerates small reserves of the wearer's mana over time.
* 👑 The Crown: An imposing, royal adornment. Benefit: Grants absolute mental immunity against illusions, charms, and external psychological tampering.
* 📿 The Necklace: A steady, defensive talisman. Benefit: Automatically deploys a single, fatal-damage-blocking barrier once per day.
* ✒️ The Fountain Pen / Stylus: A sleek scribe's instrument feeding on mana ink. Benefit: Allows the user to pre-write up to three spells onto paper or skin, which can be instantly flash-cast with zero chanting time when the parchment is torn or tapped.
* ⌚ The Mechanical Pocket Watch: A ticking brass timepiece syncing with the heart. Benefit: Can rewind the user's physical positioning in space by precisely five seconds once per hour, rewriting a tactical error.
* 🛡️ The Bladed Gauntlet: A heavy metallic bracer locking onto the forearm. Benefit: Passively absorbs 20% of all incoming kinetic or spell damage, converting it into physical strength for the user's next physical strike.
* 🎭 The Theater Mask: A porcelain facepiece depicting a blank expression. Benefit: Completely masks the user's internal magical aura, rendering them entirely invisible to tracking magic and the Night Watch gargoyles.

✦ SECTION IV: THE TABOO OF CHAOS (DEMON MAGIC) ✦
Centuries past, the legendary matriarch Clantary of Scila sought absolute dominance. Her insatiable hubris pierced the veil, and she was utterly consumed by a Demon of Pure Chaos. The resulting manifestation slaughtered half the academy before it was sealed away. Thus, DEMON MAGIC was banished forevermore.
⚠️ The Mechanics of Fate
* The Forbidden Archive: Should a soul venture into the restricted depths of the library, they shall uncover the dust-laden Book of Demons, permanently unlocking chaotic, sanity-draining corruption spells.
* The Tragic Vessel: Should the library be ignored, the desperate Nyxara Thall shall inevitably uncover the grimoire later in the tale, transforming her into the unwitting vessel of the reincarnated Chaos Demon.

* [Medical File]: Severe internal pulmonary scarring from a backfired youth spell; causes chronic ash-coughing fits during high mana overexertion. High pain threshold but highly vulnerable to extreme cold.
* [Psychology & Deep Trauma]: Stoic, disciplined, and unyielding. Driven by crushing survivor's guilt over his younger sister dying in a past academy duel because he wasn't fast enough. His harshness is a deliberate shield to keep people away so he never has to mourn again.

* [Psychology & Deep Trauma]: Neurotic, deeply empathetic, and perpetually anxious. Becomes terrifyingly calm and focused when a life is on the line. Plagued by crippling imposter syndrome. Will happily break her own body to save an ally to avoid being sent back to the slums to starve.

* [Combat Profile]: Tactical Assignment: Catalyst | Mare Casting | Bearer: Flawless Radiant Gold Crown
* [Physical Description]: Aristocratic and beautiful but visibly decaying. Long gold hair that floats from static mana, glowing golden eyes, and a thin build with glowing gold veins tracking up his neck and temples.
* [Medical File]: Terminal Mana-Burn Syndrome; his body overproduces more Mare energy than his nervous system can handle. Suffers from blinding migraines, internal bleeding, and sudden muscle paralysis.
* [Psychology & Deep Trauma]: Cold, fiercely arrogant, and dripping with regal condescension. Fully detached and refuses to work in teams. Trapped by existential dread, knowing with absolute certainty that his power will kill him before age 30. Acts like a monster to prevent people from loving him, sparing them the grief of his inevitable violent death.

* [Psychology & Deep Trauma]: Sharp-tongued, deeply sarcastic, and cynical. Shows zero respect for authority or the High Archmage's eye. Sole survivor of a slaughtered bloodline after her clan was executed. Channels her heavy grief into the dark, melancholic imagery of her Tapestry magic and views trust as a knife to her back.
⚡ 5. Zephyr "The Ghost" Vance
* [Identity & Status]: Age 18 | Birthday March 11 | Half-Beast Kin / Leonin-Human Hybrid | Bastard Royal Child | Knight-Errant in Training
* [Combat Profile]: Tactical Assignment: Infiltrator | Mare Casting | Bearer: Thick Heavy Silver Ring (Right Thumb)

* [Medical File]: Constant joint inflammation and micro-fractures in hands due to the kinetic recoil of his Rupture magic. Keeps forearms and hands tightly wrapped in linen bandages to prevent bone shattering.
* [Psychology & Deep Trauma]: Wild, rebellious, and fiercely loyal to those he deems worthy. Features a feral sense of humor, deliberately acting unrefined to irritate nobility. Abandoned and treated as a royal embarrassment his entire life by his father, he fought his way into Astralys purely on spite. Needs to prove a "mongrel" can outshine purebloods to mask the intense pain of childhood rejection.
