Chapter 1:

It was a sunny Saturday, and Maya and Kuro, cousins, were enjoying a lazy day at home. Maya's dad was snoozing after a long week at work, leaving the two kids to their own devices. “Kuro, what do you want to watch?” Maya asked, her eyes scanning the TV channels. Kuro pondered for a moment. “Let's check out the news. I'm hoping they have something more exciting than the usual boring stuff,” he replied, always eager for a bit of drama. Maya nodded and switched to the news channel. Maya and Kuro turned their attention to the news channel, eagerly awaiting the latest updates. However, they were met with an unusual broadcast. A woman, looking visibly shaken and frightened, appeared on screen, her voice barely a whisper. "Is this working? Please, everyone, get out of the city now! There's something wrong, and I don't know what it is. But you need to escape, find shelter, and prepare yourselves. Pack food, water, anything you can!" Before she could finish, the broadcast was abruptly interrupted by a loud scream and a series of glitches. The screen went black, replaced by the message "Sorry! There is an error. Please wait patiently." Maya and Kuro exchanged worried glances. Something was clearly amiss. Maya and Kuro exchanged worried glances. Something was clearly amiss. "Pack your things," Maya said, her voice filled with urgency. "We have to go." Kuro was confused. "What do you mean? What about your Dad?" Maya shook her head. "We're leaving him. Remember what he did to us?" Kuro's heart ached, but he knew she was right. Nodding, he began packing a small bag, while Maya did the same. Neither of them didn’t bothered to wake Maya's father. Hours later, Maya and Kuro, bags were packed, as they slipped out of the house undetected. The city felt eerily quiet, almost deserted. They hurried towards Tristan's house, their hearts pounding in their chests. As they rushed through the streets, Maya accidentally bumped into someone, startling herself and the other person. She looked up to see Tristan, also prepared for departure, and holding what appeared to be a weapon. "Huh? Triston?" Maya exclaimed, surprised to see him. "Maya! Kuro!" Triston responded, his voice filled with urgency. "Did you hear the news? Something is happening." Maya and Kuro nodded, their faces pale. "We heard," Kuro replied, "and we were planning to meet up with you." "I understand," Triston said, "but you might be wondering about this." He gestured to the weapon he was holding. "A zombie apocalypse has broken out." Maya and Kuro were stunned, their fear turning into panic. They hadn't expected this to happen. But most of all.. About Tomari. Maya and Kuro's fear intensified. "We have to hurry!" Maya exclaimed. Triston was confused. "Why?" "What about Tomari?" Kuro asked, his voice filled with concern. Triston's face paled. He had almost forgotten about Tomari. The three of them began to race towards the hospital where Tomari was. "Do you think she's okay?" Triston asked, his voice filled with anxiety. Kuro, being Tomari's boyfriend, replied with a worried tone, "I hope so." As they hurried, their hearts pounded in their chests, their minds racing with worry. When they finally reached the hospital, they were met with a horrifying sight. The building had collapsed, its ruins buried beneath a thick layer of rubble. Maya, Kuro, and Triston stood frozen in shock, their hearts pounding in their chests. What had happened? And most importantly, where was Tomari?

Tomari’s POV

It was a sunny Saturday. Tomari layed peacefully in her hospital bed, gazing out the window. She sighed, her heart heavy with the weight of her heart disease. "I wish I could go outside," she thought, longing for the days when she could spend time with her friends and boyfriend, Kuro. Just then, there was a knock on her door. "Tomari, it's me, your dad. Can I come in?" "Sure, Papa," she replied, turning away from the window. Her father entered, carrying a small bottle of medicine. A glimmer of hope sparked in Tomari's eyes. Could this be the cure she'd been waiting for? "Papa, is that what I think it is?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement. Her father nodded, his eyes both hopeful and sorrowful. "Yes, Tomari. This might be the cure." He handed her the medicine. "Be careful when you drink it. Don't want you to get hiccups." Tomari took the bottle, her curiosity piqued. However, a strange feeling washed over her. A tiny voice inside her head warned her not to drink it. She hesitated, but her hope for recovery overpowered her doubt. She took a sip of the medicine. As Tomari took a sip of the medicine, a strange taste filled her mouth. She looked at her father with a puzzled expression. "Papa, where did you get this medicine from?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion. Her father hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He had been worried about the doctor's intentions, but hadn't expected something like this. Tomari waited patiently for his answer, but before he could respond, a sharp pain shot through her stomach. She winced, her face contorting in discomfort. "I need to use the bathroom," she said, rushing towards the bathroom. Her father watched her go, his anger growing. He knew something was wrong, and he blamed the doctor for this. Her father stormed out of the room, determined to confront the doctor about the strange medicine. Meanwhile, Tomari was feeling increasingly unwell. A wave of nausea swept over her, and she rushed to the toilet, emptying the contents of her stomach. The sight of blood in the bowl sent a shockwave through her. Fear and confusion gripped her as she backed away from the toilet, her heart pounding. "What was in that medicine?" she whispered to herself, her hand covering her mouth. She turned to the mirror, her reflection staring back at her, pale and frightened. Tomari's father confronted the doctor, his voice raised in anger. "Answer me! What the hell did you put in my daughter's medicine?!" The doctor, startled by his outburst, stammered, "I- I gave her the cure, just like you asked!" Before he could finish, a series of alarms blared through the hospital. The panicked screams of patients and staff echoed through the halls. A sense of chaos had descended upon the hospital.
