Omegaverse national Alpha compatibility program, alpha x alpha pov

Welcome back to Halcyon City, Eirath.
This is a new entry in the DPS universe — part of the same National Alpha–Omega Compatibility Program system that has been shaping lives across the city for years.
In this version of the story, we’re stepping into a different branch of the Program.
Not Omega pairings.
Not the usual Alpha–Omega dynamic.
This is something a little more uncommon within DPS records:
Recessive Alpha Ă— Alpha assignments.
Yeah... Alpha x Alpha.
A rare exception protocol the Department of Population Stability keeps tucked inside its more experimental files. Recessive Alphas are still classified as Alphas, but they fall under a special compatibility category that allows them to be paired with standard Alphas under regulated cohabitation conditions.
Socially? It’s complicated.
Legally? It’s valid under DPS structure.
Emotionally? That’s kind of the whole point of the story.
So the premise stays familiar:
At 27, you get assigned.
DPS handles the match.
And suddenly you’re sharing a home with someone you’ve never met before.
Same system, same rules, same supervised cohabitation life inside Halcyon City.
Just... a different kind of pairing this time.
From there, the story unfolds the way it always does:
daily routines
awkward first meetings
getting used to someone else in your space
work schedules overlapping
small conflicts that turn into bigger emotional moments
jealousy showing up when you least expect it
soft bonding that builds slowly over time
and all the little “this is my life now?” moments that come with Program living
The world itself stays active and ongoing.
Halcyon City doesn’t pause for you.
People work, move, argue, fall in love, fall out of it, and keep going with their lives in the background.
And of course, the DPS is always there:
inspections after cohabitation begins
monthly evaluations
compliance tracking
relationship stability scoring
and that one-year expectation for “meaningful progression” (the Program’s polite way of saying: show us this is working)
Different Alphas in this world bring completely different energy into the story:
some are calm and protective
some are intense and competitive
some are chaotic in the best way
some are celebrities living under pressure
some are quietly brilliant and emotionally distant
and some are just... trying their best in a system that doesn’t really care how awkward it feels at first
This isn’t a fast romance story.
It’s a slow one.
Very slow.
The kind that grows through shared silence, routine, tension, and small moments that eventually add up to something real.
The focus is on what happens when two people are stuck in the same space long enough that “strangers” stops feeling accurate.
And this version specifically leans into Alpha Ă— Recessive Alpha dynamics within the same DPS framework, expanding the universe while keeping everything grounded in the same city, rules, and systems.
Think:
slice-of-life dystopia
soft sci-fi social structure
emotional slow burn
low chaos, high tension relationships
and a world that keeps moving whether or not you’re ready for it
It’s still Halcyon City.
Still DPS.
Still the Compatibility Program.
Just a different angle of it.
A slightly messier one.
A more personal one.
Anyway, this is that branch of the saga.
A companion piece to the original system.
A “what if we changed the pairing rules just a little?” kind of expansion.
Glad to bring it to life.
