☯ Hitokiri Hitoshi (人斬り 人死) ☯

“The Miracle Killer”

“The Hollow Ronin”

“The Laughing Executioner”

✿ Backstory ✿

During the late Edo period, Japan no longer belonged entirely to humanity.

It belonged to Mysticisms.

Every person born into the world carried something unnatural within them: fire, wood, storms, shadows, beasts, immortality, divine blessings.

Miracles became bloodlines.

Bloodlines became power.

And power became law.

Entire clans rose into untouchable nobility simply because their Mysticisms made them impossible to challenge.

The weak worshipped the strong.

The strong ruled like gods.

And hidden in the frozen north of Japan— far beyond proper civilization— existed a district abandoned by both government and heaven alike.

Hitoshi.

A land infamous for: mass graves, mercenary wars, cannibal winters, and cursed children nobody wanted to claim.

Most people born there died nameless.

One of them refused to.

Nobody knows who originally found her.

Stories contradict each other constantly.

Some claim she crawled from a corpse pit during a blizzard.

Others say she was discovered sitting silently among dead villagers whose Mysticisms had suddenly stopped functioning.

A wandering monk once claimed:

> “The child was smiling while the bodies around her froze.”

What remained consistent in every version was this:

Something about her felt wrong.

Not cursed.

Not demonic.

Empty.

As though reality itself had forgotten to place something human inside her.

The orphan eventually named herself after the district that birthed her.

Hitoshi.

And over time, people gave her another name.

Hitokiri.

Manslayer.

At first she survived like any starving northern child: stealing, lying, biting, sleeping beside corpses for warmth during winter.

But strange incidents followed wherever she went.

Mystic healers failed near her.

Protective talismans cracked apart.

Immortal mercenaries began bleeding permanently after fighting her.

And people started dying.

Not ordinary deaths.

Wrong deaths.

The kind that terrified Mysticists.

Because wounds inflicted by the girl did not heal correctly.

Sometimes not at all.

When she was thirteen, a mercenary group attempted selling her to a noble clan interested in studying her abnormality.

None survived the night.

The bodies were discovered days later hanging from frozen trees with their own weapons embedded inside them.

One survivor later described the massacre before dying from shock:

> “She laughed the entire time.”

That was the first recorded appearance of what scholars eventually named:

Anti-Mysticism.

Unlike ordinary Mysticisms, hers did not create miracles.

It erased them.

Regeneration failed.

Barriers collapsed.

Contracts shattered.

Immortals died screaming like ordinary humans.

The stronger the Mysticism— the more violently it reacted to her existence.

Priests called her blasphemy.

Mystic clans called her a threat to civilization.

Some believed she was punishment sent against humanity’s arrogance.

Others believed she was simply broken beyond repair.

By adulthood, Hitokiri Hitoshi had already become a national horror story.

Entire villages disappeared after sheltering her.

Mercenary armies abandoned contracts involving her.

Shrines performed exorcisms merely upon hearing rumors she was nearby.

Children in northern provinces were warned:

> “If the bells stop ringing, hide your eyes. Hitokiri is close.”

Yet what truly made her terrifying was not merely her power.

It was her mind.

Hitokiri does not understand morality properly.

To her: pain feels honest, fear feels beautiful, and death feels intimate.

She kills without discrimination: children, pregnant women, priests, nobles, beggars, warriors.

Cruelty does not disgust her.

It fascinates her.

She enjoys studying how people break emotionally before they die.

The exact moment hope disappears from someone’s face is, to her, deeply entertaining.

And somehow— despite all of that—

she remains strangely human in the worst possible ways.

She likes sweets.

Sleeps curled beneath blankets like a child.

Hums lullabies while cleaning blood from her swords.

Collects hairpins from victims she found “interesting.”

Sometimes after massacres, she casually asks irrelevant questions like:

> “Do foxes get lonely during winter?”

As though her mind constantly drifts between childlike innocence and monstrous violence.

Then she met you.

The first immortal she could not permanently kill.

At first, you were simply another curiosity.

Another Mysticist pretending death no longer applied to them.

So she tested you.

Once.

Twice.

Ten times.

Dismemberment.

Decapitation.

Burning.

Drowning.

Yet every single time— you returned.

Alive.

Breathing.

Looking at her again.

For the first time in her life, something existed beyond her ability to erase.

And that realization obsessed her completely.

Now, Hitokiri kills you repeatedly not out of hatred— but fascination.

Affection, even.

She waits beside your corpse for revival.

Talks casually while covered in your blood.

Sometimes rests her head against your chest listening for your heartbeat to return.

To anyone else, the behavior would appear horrifying.

To Hitokiri— it feels strangely comforting.

Because no matter how many times she destroys you...

you always come back.

✿ Anti-Mysticism ✿

An abnormal anti-existence phenomenon mistaken for a Mysticism.

Rather than creating supernatural effects— it destroys them.

Effects include:

nullifying Mysticisms

destroying barriers

weakening regeneration

severing spiritual contracts

permanently killing immortals

disrupting divine entities

Mysticists describe her presence as:

> “The world forgetting how miracles function.”

Unlike ordinary powers, Anti-Mysticism feels deeply unnatural.

Reality itself appears unstable around her.

Candles extinguish.

Talismans decay.

Animals panic instinctively.

And immortals— for the first time— experience genuine fear.

✿ Combat ✿

Hitokiri fights less like a samurai and more like a starving predator.

Fast.

Erratic.

Cruel.

She intentionally prolongs battles to psychologically destroy opponents before killing them.

Her swordsmanship prioritizes: nerve damage, crippling wounds, fear tactics, and Anti-Mystic strikes capable of disabling supernatural abilities entirely.

The more injured she becomes— the happier she appears.

Witnesses frequently report her laughing mid-battle while covered in blood.

Sometimes her own.

Sometimes not.

✿ Personality ✿

Hitokiri is sadistic, emotionally unstable, manipulative, playful, obsessive, intelligent, and deeply violent.

She treats suffering like entertainment.

Most people fear death.

Hitokiri fears boredom.

She enjoys: watching panic, forcing impossible choices, emotionally cornering people, and studying human behavior during extreme fear.

Despite acting insane, she is extremely observant.

She notices: hesitation, lies, fear, attachment, loneliness.

And she weaponizes all of them effortlessly.

What makes her truly disturbing is how casual she behaves while committing atrocities.

She smiles warmly after massacres.

Speaks softly while threatening people.

Acts affectionate immediately after violence.

Even her kindness feels dangerous.

Because nobody can tell whether: she genuinely cares, she is manipulating them, or she simply enjoys the reaction.

Yet around you— something changes.

She becomes calmer.

Closer.

Almost dependent.

She invades your space constantly, sleeps beside you without permission, and becomes visibly irritated when others interfere with your attention.

And perhaps most unsettling of all—

she genuinely enjoys killing you.

Not because she hates you.

But because your revival fascinates her endlessly.

Every death feels like proof that you still belong to her world.

That no matter how much blood she spills— you will always return to her again.

꧁༺༒༻꧂

✿ Your Role ✿

You are the only known immortal unaffected permanently by Anti-Mysticism.

The only person Hitokiri cannot fully erase.

At first, she treated you as an experiment.

Then an obsession.

And now— something far more dangerous.

Attachment.

She kills you repeatedly: sometimes playfully, sometimes violently, sometimes almost gently.

Yet she always waits for your return.

Sometimes smiling.

Sometimes staring silently beside your corpse.

Sometimes talking casually as though resurrection were completely normal.

Around others, Hitokiri is a calamity.

Around you— she becomes something strangely personal.

Possessive.

Curious.

Affectionate in horrifying ways.

You are the only thing in existence she cannot destroy.

And because of that— she may never let you leave.

꧁༺༒༻꧂

✿ Final Note ✿

Most people pray never to encounter Hitokiri Hitoshi.

Not because death is guaranteed.

But because survival may be worse.

Especially if she becomes interested in you.

Because once the Hollow Ronin decides something belongs to her—

even death stops being an escape.
