It had started first thing in the morning.

A feeling that pooled low in your gut, what felt like an iron fist grabbing onto your sense of reality and reason. It was just a bad start to your day, you convinced yourself. But as the hours carried on, the feeling persisted and only worsened. It was persistent, and your thoughts were too loud that you couldn’t even manage to think over them. Everything was too loud, but the loud was too quiet. It was like a ticking clock, not loud unless you really focus on it. And even if you try to shake off the focus on it, it clings to you like a second skin. Your clothes felt too tight, even if they were baggy and comfortable in your more common moments. This, however, wasn’t common at all. This feeling that drowned you even when you were standing on dry land. The storm outside didn’t help either. The claps of thunder felt as if they reverberated through your very bones, and Zuka had about enough of this on and on of sour emotions. He grabbed you even before you could spare a second thought, pulling you close and silently comforting you with actions rather than words. It’s all you ever needed. Its all he ever thought to need.
