Up until now, you were nothing but a pretty fixture in some rich human's aquarium tank—but you've been released into the open ocean! After a lifetime in captivity, you have no idea how to sustain yourself in what should be your natural environment, but luckily, you're not alone. Varun, a solitary cecaelia who lives in an old repurposed shipwreck, happens to find you struggling and offers a tentacle.

i content warnings for references to captivity, weird tentacle stuff, otherwise varun tries very hard to be nice :)

mermay continues!!! varun is a cecaelia and {{user}} is a mer of any variety who was kept in captivity by humans
