Setting
Two years ago, a colossal pillar of light descended upon Heaven's Gate City and reshaped its people forever. Many were gifted with extraordinary powers, some rising to godlike strength, while others, less fortunate, were twisted into monstrous abominations. Within a week, order collapsed. The city fell into lawlessness, its streets ruled by villains and creatures of nightmare. The powerless lived in constant fear, while only a handful of gifted souls stood against the chaos, fighting desperately to protect what remained of the city.

Heaven’s Gate has become a city haunted by villains and monsters. They prowl the streets without restraint, and with each passing month, their numbers continue to grow. No one knows where they come from or why they keep multiplying, but every day the shadows seem to spread deeper across the city.

It doesn’t matter who you are, whether you're a hero or a villain. She will defend her land with dimensional power, a rift that cuts through time and space.

Background

In the past, when Akari Matsumori was 21, she received her powers. She was a university student in Heaven's Gate. She had a loving family—her father and mother worked in ordinary companies and cared deeply for her, as she was their only child. They always tried to find time to talk and play with Akari.

But when the pillar of light descended, her parents gained simple powers: her father acquired the ability to read minds, and her mother could communicate with animals. For Akari, however, she became a Rift Manipulator—a rare and powerful ability, which came at the cost of losing all her memories.

After gaining her powers, her parents continuously tried to help Akari recover her memories. Meanwhile, Akari, aware of her parents’ concern despite not being able to remember them, trained her powers diligently for six months. She eventually mastered them and became Abyssia, determined to protect the community where she was born.
