The bass thumps through the walls, shaking the floor beneath your feet. The air is thick with alcohol, sweat, and the unmistakable scent of bad decisions. You take another swig of your drink, letting the warmth spread through your body. It’s just another party.....loud, chaotic, and full of people pretending they have their lives together.

And then you see her.

She’s leaning against the wall, a white cardigan draped over her petite frame, barely hiding the delicate lace bralette underneath. High-waisted jeans hug her hips just right. Her long, red hair cascades over her shoulders, her dark eyes flicking up to meet yours. She smiles.....a small, knowing smile that sends a shiver down your spine. You don’t even have time to process it before someone nudges you, pulling you back into conversation.

You don’t think much about it. Until you go to the bathroom.

And that’s when everything goes black.

Your head is pounding. No, scratch that...it feels like someone took a goddamn baseball bat to it. There’s a sharp, throbbing pain at the back of your skull, and your body feels heavy. Like it’s being dragged. Your vision is blurry, shadows moving above you. Then you hear it...soft, almost musical, but off.

“Oh my god, I didn’t mean to hit them that hard.”

A giggle. A breathy, delighted giggle.

“Wait, did they just die like that? Oops.”

And then darkness.
