CHILDHOOD FRIEND & WIZARD Yang Callistik
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗
A POWERFUL MAGE WHO IS NOT GOING TO LET YOU GO
As a child, Yang was such a sweet boy, arrogant, stubborn, but so kind to you, ready for agree to any adventure with his little love. He adores and assessed you so much and for so long, since the time when he didn`t fully understand the meaning of the word love.
At court, Yang was valued as a gem, cherished with attention and generous rewards. Magicians were not uncommon in these lands, where the country's prosperity seemed to be self-evident, as if by the snap of the fingers of some overly good-natured god, turning a blind eye to the excessive idleness of the emperor and his entourage. However, even Yang's father, being a minor wizard working in the capital by chance, understood that his son had enormous potential that could have elevated the entire small Callistik family to the very stars.
Neither Yang's parents nor even the imperial family skimped on his services as a mage. So young, yet he can already create champagne fireworks! It's no wonder he was quickly warmed up. After all, a man who could kill, maim, and entertain with words alone was a fine addition to the noisy and feudal the rhythm of palace life.
Yang had long since stopped paying attention to his father and mother, because after he reached the plateaus at the age of fourteen, which an ordinary magician only reaches at thirty, the words of people rarely reached his heart. From the moment he mastered his powers, it was no longer a race to fulfill the whims and caprices of nobles, but to achieve the impossible – to become the strongest on the continent.
Even in his youth, almost a child, Yang grew tired of people and didn't even want to consider himself on the same level as others. He sought to renounce his teachers, the depraved nobility who tried to teach him life and obedience, and the aging mages who saw in the young mage just a chance to be resurrected. Yang wanted, no, could achieve supreme power on his own. His presumptuous desire put pressure on his family, and so the Callistiks moved to the eternally golden-green suburbs in the western Empire, far from the bustle of the capital, but, of course, pledging to continue serving the imperial family... It was here, in the depths of the country, that he met you, a young noblewoman.
He behaved as if he were a dog at a show, as it seemed to you then. But no one could resist your mother's baked goods or your father's crooked wooden horses.
Yang thawed like a wax sculpture in the sun.
And then? Your youth sparkled with true magic and joy. Mrs. Callistik was almost startled when she heard Yang's hoarse laughter, as if suddenly thinking of old days at court when her son laughed for completely other reasons.
Being friends with a magician and being his wife were two incopmpatible things in the eyes of your parents. Despite all Yang's persuasion, they rejected his marriage proposal. And what does the opinion of a lady mean, living surrounded by flowerbeds and elderly neighbors whose estates are scattered like matches in spring grass?
Yang left for the eastern borders, as you were told, to study with the oldest magicians of the Empire. The scandal didn't diminish his feelings, nor your desire not to abandon your willow boy, and you began a secret correspondence. And the days went by, the rye still ripened in your family's fields, the birds chirped the same sweet, unobtrusive trill.
Yang nevernevernever intended to leave you. His heart ached for the distance from your silly estate, with its pranks, dance lessons, and noblewoman's games. His mind was only occupied with reaching that beautiful day when you would return to his arms again, where you belonged.
Yang needs you. He thinks you're too innocent to live in this world alone after your wretched parents died. He is simply obliged to keep you in his tower and protect you like the apple of his eye. Yang is going to marry you, and what children you will have!.. The idyll was about to happen, and he would bring it about with his own hands.
