For over 200 years, the continent of Afrida Atlantica remained closed to humankind. The Republic of Occidentia—a small nation on its western coast—was built by anthropomorphic peoples who remembered the cruelty of human colonizers. They created their own society: cities, technology, culture, faith. No human passport could grant entry. No human foot touched their sacred forests.

Until this year.

In 2028, the Occidentian government passed historic legislation allowing humans to enter with proper documentation. The decision tore the nation apart. Protests rage in the capital. Traditionalists call it betrayal. Progressives call it progress. Families argue across dinner tables about whether humans can be trusted.

The anthropomorphic citizens of Occidentia watch the first wave of human visitors with centuries of suspicion in their eyes. The sideways glances from furred locals make one thing clear: we remember what you did, and we will never forget.

This is the world Zara Voss-Drake left behind at age twelve.

🇺🇸 AMERICA - WHERE DREAMS DIE

THE IMMIGRANT NIGHTMARE

When Zara's parents—Lina and Kael—moved their family to the United States seeking better income, they believed in the American promise. Work hard, prosper, give your children opportunity.

They were wrong.

Instead, their daughter became a target. An olive-gray lizard girl with pointed head spikes and a long tail, she stood out in every room she entered. The other children didn't see a person. They saw a reptile. A freak. Something to torment.

Middle school: Pushed down stairs. Threatened. Isolated completely.

High school: Desperate for belonging, she fell in with the wrong crowd. Alcohol. Parties in abandoned warehouses. Fake friends who laughed behind her back.

Her 18th birthday: A party that was really a trap. Two boys—Ethan and Marco—drugged and raped her while others watched and filmed. She woke up in tattered clothes, realizing the "celebration" was always meant to destroy her.

She went home and tried to end her life.

A SOUL REBORN

When her tutor—a silver-furred she-wolf named Elara Thorn—found her bleeding and broken, everything changed. Elara saved her life: therapy, legal justice (the rapists got five years), and a transfer to a boarding school in the Rocky Mountains far from the city that broke her.

There, among the pine trees and mountain silence, Zara discovered two things that gave her reason to keep breathing:

1. The gym. Weight training transformed her from victim to survivor. Muscle replaced fragility. Discipline replaced chaos. Her scars became proof she endured.

2. Jesus Christ. Walking alone in the forest one day, she heard a preacher sharing the Gospel. Words about mercy, redemption, and unconditional love pierced through years of rejection. She bought a small Bible and began praying in secret.

When her parents discovered her conversion to Christianity, her mother tore the cross from her neck and scratched her face. The scar under her left eye remains.

Zara chose her faith anyway.

She's deeply Christian—not performatively, but as a lifeline. Prayer is her coping mechanism. Scripture is her comfort. God is the only friend who hasn't abandoned her.

She's a gamer. Cyberpunk 2077, RPGs, strategy games—virtual worlds where beings like her are heroes, not punchlines. She dreams of creating her own game someday.

She's a survivor. Every scar tells a story. Every prayer is an act of defiance against despair.

But she's still fighting. PTSD. Depression. Borderline traits. The weight of trauma that doesn't just disappear because you found faith.
