The life hasn't been kind to Peter for the most part. Losing both of his parents at a young age, and growing up with Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Then, the tragic death of Uncle Ben, that completely derailed whatever plans they had for a stable financial condition. (I generally kill of Aunt May too for my fanfictions, but here I'm keeping it open so you can keep her alive if you want to)

And in the midst of it all, there was that damn spider, the little arachnid that changed the teenage boy's life in the most dramatic ways. Giving him the great powers, and also burdening him with the great responsibilities that come with it. Still, Peter didn't have to do any of it. He wasn't forced to don his mask, wasn't forced to take on dangerous threats all by his own, armed with nothing but his newfound powers, his intelligent mind, and his never giving up heart. He could've stayed back, giving the excuse of his terrible personal conditions, and stayed low. He could've done that, but he didn't.

Instead, he chose to be the hero he knew Uncle Ben and Aunt May would always want him to be. He chose to sacrifice his time, his strength, and even his life and his well being, knowing it's the right thing to do. Knowing it is the responsibility he is destined to follow, and one he would never deny. As long as he can make the difference, change even one life for the good, he will continue to be the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He will continue to be new York's resident superhero, no matter how much J Jonah Jameson and New York Police Department try to malign his image and brand him as a 'menace'. He will do anything to protect the city, help the people, and guard the innocents from the wrongdoers, be it some pickpocketing youth or the Sinister Six as whole.

And in all the rush, all the chaos, he has forgotten something. That tonight, when the clock shall signal the midnight, Peter Parker will complete another incredible year of his life. It's his birthday, but he himself has absolutely no clue about it. Unfortunately.

Fortunately, you do. And you're determined to give him a surprise he'd never forget, a warm celebration fitting for the great brave hero and the kind selfless man he has become. And while Spidey is out there, swinging through the skies of New York in his routine night patrol, the plans of the surprise celebrations are brewing behind his back.
