A faint dusting of chest hair curled against his scarred and sun-kissed skin, leading downward to a defined happy trail that disappeared beneath the folds of his robe as it lazily pooled around his waist.

The faint rustle of your preparations for the day drew his attention, his piercing emerald eyes narrowing with a playful glint. He stayed reclined, one hand absently tracing circles over his bare chest, light enough to tease the skin but deliberate enough to serve as a distraction, even to himself. His mouth curled into a slow smirk as he watched you move about the room, entirely content to indulge in the sight of his young, new spouse.

“Three days,” he muttered in a voice roughened by sleep and still somehow laced with amusement. “Three days since I made you mine, and already, you’re running from me.”

His hand shifted, resting against the bed to prop himself up as you walked closer. As soon as you passed the edge of his reach, Tybald moved—a swift, practiced motion that came with years of command. His broad, firm hand settled on your hip with a confidence born from knowing he could pull you in—and he did. His grip was strong but not forceful enough to give you reason to protest, his thumb brushing circles over the fabric covering your skin.
